  • Patent number: 11679288
Abstract: When using oxygen gas pipes 3, situations can arise, in particular due to slag return and similar dangers, in which the operator must initiate safety measures. Slag return safety devices are known which, in such a case, ensure that the gas flow is stopped by melting a cap 35 of a heat sensor 5. The response of this outlet valve 6 of the slag return safety device can be recognized, for example, by the fact that the inlet pressure of the existing oxygen gas 4 is used to push pins 21 located in the wall 19 of the oxygen gas pipe 3 beyond the outside 27 of the oxygen gas pipe 3, so that they cannot be overlooked as a warning signal. The movement of the pins 21 can be used to activate further signal systems 30 in order to provide additional indications of this movement optically and/or acoustically.

  • Patent number: 9500306
Abstract: In a multiple secured coupling device for oxygen lances (1), the male connector (8) of the safety pipe (3), the connection part (18) of the lance holder (2) and also the cap nut (9) have extending safety pieces (10, 11). The male connector (8) can be inserted very far into the female part (19) or the connection part (18) and then located in position by using the cap nut (9). A total of five sealing zones are created and are particularly effective in preventing the escape of highly flammable gases, in particular oxygen.

Abstract: A multiple secured coupling device for oxygen lances 1 is achieved in that both the male connector 8 of the safety pipe 3, the connection part 18 of the lance holder 2 and also the cap nut 9 have an extending safety piece 10, 11. In this way, the male connector 8 can be inserted very far into the female part 19 or the connection part 18 and then located in position using the cap nut 9. A total of five sealing zones are created that in particular effectively prevent the escape of highly flammable gases, in particular oxygen.

  • Patent number: 8561632
Abstract: A quick-acting valve 1 having metering relief is used in particular for oxygen lances, wherein the actual sealing body 10 inside the valve tube 2 has a two-part design and accommodates the valve spring 8 with the housing parts 16 and 17 of the spring. The gas is conducted around the sealing body 10, so that the gas pressure cannot have an effect on the actuation by way of the hand lever 3. The rear housing part 17, which is located behind the front housing part 16 can be displaced inside the front housing part 16, and has a flow-promoting design, being displaced against the force of the valve spring 8, and specifically with the help of the hand lever 3, so that it now can be actuated independently of the gas pressure with precise metering control.

  • Publication number: 20100140853
Abstract: A lance holder 1 characterized by a high level of operating safety is equipped with a holder or tube fixing system which reliably prevents even a bent lance tube 2 from turning in the lance holder 1. The clamping head 3 has a fixing part 4 and a clamping part 5 which ensure punctiform fixing by means of suitably-displaceable pressure elements 16 in the form of balls 20. Three such balls 20, 20? are distributed around the circumference and provide for secure fixing and a wide tolerance range in respect of the dimensions of the lance tubes 2. Said wide tolerance range is also ensured by the possibility of using sealing sleeves 6 with a large internal diameter, which are pressed securely and directly against the wall 18 of the lance tube 2 without compression by insertion of a wedge 22.
