  • Patent number: 7441485
Abstract: An apparatus for dismantling a radioactively contaminated tubular installation part which is located under water contains a base part which can be fixed to the installation part and in which a rolling cutting apparatus is mounted. The rolling cutting apparatus can be positioned in or on the installation part and has at least one cutting roller which can be moved to the inner or outer surface of the installation part and can be moved along it. The apparatus can be used to dismantle and remove even installation parts to which access is difficult, for example the cyclones which are installed in the water/steam separator of a boiling water reactor.

  • Publication number: 20020098036
Abstract: A screwing device is described that contains a drive housing tube nut to be screwed onto a control rod drive housing tube of a nuclear power station. The drive housing tube nut has an axis of rotation. A locking pin is disposed into the drive housing tube nut. The locking pin is disposed inclined radially to the axis of rotation at an axial inclination angle with respect to the axis of rotation of the drive housing tube nut. The locking pin is further oriented such that one component of orientation of the locking pin points in a tangential direction.

  • Patent number: 6104772
Abstract: A method and an apparatus introduce a self-propelled in-pipe manipulator into the interior of a pipeline. A hollow body receives the in-pipe manipulator, is open at least at one end surface and is positioned at an opening of the pipeline, from where the in-pipe manipulator can drive on its own into the pipeline.

  • Patent number: 5089212
Abstract: A nuclear reactor, such as advanced pressurized water reactor, with controlled power output includes a reactor core having a cross section in a given plane with a center of area and axes of symmetry passing through the center of area. A multiplicity of control elements are disposed in groups, each having at least one of the control elements. The control elements of each of the groups with more than one control element are joined together. The groups are symmetrical to at least two of the axes of symmetry. Drive mechanisms each move a respective one of the groups of control elements. Each of the control elements has a plurality of control rods. A support structure joins the control rods to one another. Fuel assemblies are disposed in groups. Each of the groups of control elements has a given number of control elements being associated with one of the groups of fuel assemblies having the given number of fuel assemblies.

  • Patent number: 4991280
Abstract: A method for replacing bolts on core components of nuclear reactors includes machining away a bolt fastened at an installation site in a core component as well as the entire fastening of the bolt with an electroerosion machine. Machined-away bolt material is removed and caught with a filter. The bolt is then ejected from the core component with a closed force system. The installation site of the bolt is remachined with an accurate fit and a new bolt is subsequently inserted. An apparatus for replacing bolts on core components of nuclear reactors includes rails. An auxiliary platform is supported on the rails on both sides of a reactor pressure vessel. An auxiliary crane is disposed on the auxiliary platform and adjustable transverse to the rails. A tool carrier is guided on the auxiliary platform and suspended from the auxiliary crane. A tool is disposed on the tool carrier for replacing bolts on core components.

  • Patent number: 4981642
Abstract: An apparatus for form-locking torsion prevention in screw connections includes a bolt with a standard bolt thread and a special nut having a free end and nut threads. A thin-walled sheath is disposed on the free end of the special nut. An integral cross-sectional portion intended for deformation is in the form of a bead supported on the thin-walled sheath. The nut thread extends uninterruptedly through the sheath and the bead. The bolt thread extends through the bead. A thrust pad is pressed axially onto the bead and has a conically narrowing bore formed therein in which the bead is substantially radially plastically deformed and forced inward into the bolt thread.
