  • Patent number: 5772338
Abstract: In a raceway-guided or flange-guided cage made of plastic for roller bearings, webs (18) between side rings (14) and (16) are specially designed to prevent foreign particles present in the lubricant from damaging contact surfaces (S) of rollers (R). For this purpose, guide surfaces (26) are provided only at edges of rollers (R). Intermediate web side surfaces (30, 32) are set back from contact surface (S) by a wider gap (G). Retaining projections (40) are also separated by a gap (G.sub.1) from contact surface (S) in the axial center, the point of greatest flexiblity for the snapping-in of the rollers.

  • Patent number: 5743660
Abstract: A cage for roller bearings, comprising a pair of spaced rings (3, 5) having confronting raceways (R.sub.i, R.sub.o) for plurality of rolling elements (6), the cage comprises at least one annular side ring (8), a plurality of webs (9) extending from said side ring (8) which are circumferentially spaced to define pockets (P) for the rolling elements (6). The free terminal ends of the webs remote from the side ring (8) have projecting portions (11, 12) which partially enclose the rolling elements (6). Each of said webs (9) has an elongated radial through slot (10) dividing each of said webs into web portions (9', 9") which are displacable inwardly relative to one another to permit insertion between the rolling elements (6).

  • Patent number: 5470159
Abstract: An axial rolling bearing including first and second bearing disks, a plurality of rolling members situated between bearing disks and a cage for maintaining rolling members in spaced relationship to each other, the improvement of a radial guidance system for cage comprising a plurality of bearing elements mounted to the cage and engaging at least one of the bearing disks, and adjusting each of the bearing elements in a radial direction for reducing friction between the cage and the bearing disk engaged by the bearing elements.

  • Patent number: 5082375
Abstract: Composite cage for rolling bearings, consisting of cage segments with pockets to hold the rolling elements, the cage segments being held together by connecting elements, characterized in that the cage segments (1a, 1b, 1c and 1d) have axially outward-pointing projections (7, 8) with openings (9) to hold the connecting elements (3, 4).

  • Patent number: 4997294
Abstract: A rolling bearing has at least two bearing rings which are separated from one another by a spacer, and the joints between the spacer and the bearing rings are sealed with sealing rings. The spacer is a disk with flat end faces which extend over the full height of the disk. The outer periphery of the spacer has at least one sealing ring which projects axially over the end faces of the spacer and rests against surfaces of the adjacent bearing ring.

  • Patent number: 4094394
Abstract: A clutch throw-out device has a thrust bearing and a pressure plate. A radially extending flange on one of the bearing rings of the thrust bearing is coupled to the pressure plate, to inhibit relative rotation therebetween. The coupling includes projections on one of the flange or pressure plate extending into corresponding recesses of the other member at the coupling. The recesses are adequately large to permit radial movement, and elastic damping means are provided at least between the recesses and projections.
