  • Patent number: 10592621
Abstract: A method for determining a stiffness of a tube bundle heat exchanger. The heat exchanger has a core tube and a plurality of coil tubes coiled around the core tube to form a tube bundle having a plurality of coil layers at a respective layer coiling angle. The method determines a geometric strength parameter for a coil layer, the strength parameter being an area ratio of a coil-tube cross-sectional area to a cell cross-sectional area resulting from the axial spacing of the coil tubes and an outer diameter of the coil tubes. The area ratio is corrected by a correction factor taking the orientation of the coil tubes of the coil layer in relation to the force of gravity acting on the coil tubes into consideration. The stiffness of the respective coil layer is determined from the corrected area ratio and a modulus of elasticity of the coil-tube material.

  • Patent number: 10288360
Abstract: A method for producing a plate heat exchanger with at least two heat exchanger blocks which are produced separately from one another in a soldering furnace Each heat exchanger block has multiple separating sheets arranged parallel to one another and which form a plurality of beat exchanger passages for fluids involved in a heat exchange process. At least one support provided with solder is heated in order to melt the solder, the support is arranged between opposing outer surfaces of the heat exchanger blocks to be connected which are placed one on top of the other or adjacently, the support(s) thus being fixed between the opposing outer surfaces. After the solder is hardened, a bonded and heat-conductive connection is produced between the heat exchanger blocks. Sheets or wire arrangement can be used as the supports.

  • Publication number: 20150060031
Abstract: The invention relates to a plate heat exchanger with at least two heat exchanger blocks. Each heat exchanger block has several sheets, arranged parallel to one another, that form a plurality of heat-exchange passages for fluids. The heat exchanger blocks are joined to one another via joining means and have at least one common header. A metal foam, that joins the outside surfaces of adjacent heat exchanger blocks to one another, is introduced into an interspace of adjacent heat exchanger blocks. In this way, a blanket heat-conductive and non-positive joining is provided between the opposing outside surfaces of adjacent heat exchanger blocks.

  • Publication number: 20110022367
Abstract: A process for determining the strength of a plate-type heat exchanger includes computing the temperature stresses of the plate-type heat exchanger within the heat exchanger during its operation by a three-dimensional numerical simulation. Based on the computed temperature stresses, the strength of the plate-type heat exchanger is determined. The process for producing a plate-type heat exchanger with separating plates and profiles of metal uses this strength determination for establishing one or more mechanical parameters of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is manufactured with the one or more mechanical parameters.
