Abstract: Anionic dyestuffs which contain, as the cation an ammonium ion of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of one another denote hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl which is optionally substituted by hydroxyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl or phenyl, naphthyl or benzyl which are optionally substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, or one of the radicals --(CH.sub.2 --X--O).sub.n --H, [-alkylene-N (R.sub.3 --].sub.P --R.sub.3 or -arylene-N (R.sub.3)--(CH.sub.2 --X--O).sub.n --H or denotes, together with the nitrogen atom, a 5-membered to 7-membered heterocyclic radical,R.sub.3 denotes hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl which is optionally substituted by OH, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl or phenyl, naphthyl or benzyl which are optionally substituted by halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, or the radical --(CH.sub.2 --X--O).sub.

Abstract: The chemical yield and the space-time yield of copper phthalocyanine obtained according to the "baking process" is improved if urea and phthalic anhydride, or its reaction products with ammonia, or the dehydration products thereof, are fed in the liquid form to the reaction vessel.

Abstract: Organic pigments which provide an opaque color impression in binders and exhibit adequate flow properties in binders are obtained from pigments which provide a transparent color impression in binders in a simple way in that an azeotrope-forming agent which is appropriate for the liquid adhering to the pigment is added to the moist pigment obtained after the preparation, and the azeotropic mixture and any excess solvent which may be present are then distilled off.

Abstract: Dyestuff preparations consisting of one or more water-soluble dyestuffs, one or more water-soluble carboxylic acid amides with melting points between 40.degree. and 200.degree. C optionally further customary auxiliaries are easily wettable with water and easily and rapidly soluble even in cold water.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for conditioning crude copper phthalocyanine pigment prepared in a solvent-free process which comprises kneading at a shear gradient of 300-20,000 sec..sup.-1 for 10 seconds to 15 minutes and with an energy comsumption of 0.4-50 KWH/Kg. of copper phthalocyanine, a mixture of1. 1.0 part crude copper phthalocyanine which has not previously been subjected to extractive boiling;2. 0.1-20 parts of a salt which is soluble in water or in aqueous acids or bases; and3. 0.3-5 parts of an organic or inorganic solvent or mixture thereof which does not have significant amounts of the pigment or the salt.

Abstract: The invention relates to dyestuff preparations which containA. dyestuffs which are insoluble in tetrachloroethylene,B. dispersing agents of the formulaR.sup.1 [--NHCO--(O--CHR.sup.2 --CHR.sup.3).sub.X --(O--CHR.sup.4 --CHR.sup.5).sub.y --R.sup.6 --].sub.nwhereinR.sup.1 denotes a hydrocarbon radical such as remains after removing n isocyanate groups from a corresponding isocyanate,n is a number from 1 to 6R.sup.2 - r.sup.5 denote hydrogen, alkyl, phenyl or chloromethyl,X represents the number 0 - 100 andY represents the number 0 to 50 andR.sup.6 denotes O--aryl, O--aralkyl, O--alkaryl, O--CO--alkyl, O--CO--aryl, NH--CO--alkyl, NH--SO.sub.2 --alkyl or O--alkyl andC. optionally, organic solvents of low volatility. The preparations are extremely suitable for the dyeing textile materials from organic, water-immiscible solvents.

Abstract: Process for the manufacture of pigment preparations by comminution in the presence of surface-active agents which can be saponified under acid or alkaline conditions and which contain at least one group which confers solubility in a radical which is to be split off during the saponification.

Abstract: The effluent produced in the production of copper phthalocyanine according to the usual methods, containing by-products of the reaction and copper and molybdenum salts is advantageously purified by bringing it to a pH of between 3 and 9 and separating off the precipitate. The precipitate can be added to the starting components of the copper phthalocyanine production.

Abstract: Aqueous pigment dispersions which contain organic or inorganic pigments and water-soluble oxalkylation products of compounds which are obtainable by condensation of aromatic compounds, containing phenolic OH groups, or their ethers, especially lower alkyl ethers, with formaldehyde and amines which contain at least 2 NH groups which are reactive towards formaldehyde, or derivatives of such oxalkylation products are suitable for pigmenting natural or synthetic materials.

Abstract: Dispersions of dyestuffs which contain at least one free amino or hydroxyl group capable of reacting with isocyanates under the conditions of polyaddition and liquids in which the dyes are soluble to an extent less than 2 % are suitable for the production of colored polyurethane foams. The dye dispersions can be added before or during the polyaddition reaction.

Abstract: The conversion of the .alpha.-modification of the tetrabrom-8,8'-dihydroxynaphthazine into the .beta.-modification and the conditioning to a deeply colored, easily dispersible pigment can be performed in one process step by a salt kneading process in the presence of an inorganic or organic salt which is soluble in water or in aqueous acids or bases, of an organic solvent which does not significantly dissolve either the salt or the pigment and of an aromatic solvent.

Abstract: Pulverulent or granular dyestuff preparations containing water-soluble dyestuffs and polyvinyl alcohol are suitable for the preparation of concentrated dyestuff solutions in water, water-soluble organic solvents or in mixtures thereof.

Abstract: Pressing of uniform shape and uniform weight of disperse dyestuffs and optical brightening agents with a solubility in water less than 0.5% at 20.degree.C which are suitable for an automate metering step and which disintegrate in aqueous dye baths to give dispersions are manufactured by compressing the dyestuff or brightening agent, an anionic dispersing agent and a solid water-soluble mould release agent which gives a neutral to weakly alkaline reaction in water.
