Abstract: A breast milk pump having an electric motor, a pump driven by the motor, a suction cup, an electrically activated first three-way valve in a suction line, an electrically activated second three-way valve in a pressure line, an electronic control system, which sets the electric motor into an operating mode or an idle mode depending on an activation of a switch; in the operating mode, it operates the electric motor and the electrically activated first and second three-way valves in cycles, which comprise a suction phase, in which the electric motor is switched on, the inlet of the pump is connected to the suction cup via the first three-way valve and a floater valve, the pump outlet is connected via the second three-way valve.

Abstract: A spiral spring (30) for a discharge device (1) is made of a plastic material with polygonal cross sections (50), and is made integral with at least one dimensionally rigid connecting body (45, 46), such that the spring (30) may also be integrated with further functional parts of the discharge device (1), thereby reducing a number of components in a discharge pump to as few as two components. The components can be produced in integral form in an injection mold before being translated into a working position with respect to each other prior to final removal from the mold.

Abstract: A discharge apparatus (1 or 41) for media to be atomized in ultrafine form has a discharge nozzle (3) with a sponge-like medium receiver (10), into which issue on the one hand a functionally closed source unit (50) for the medium and on the other a conveying or delivery device (11) for compressed air, so that by a control mechanism (40) initially a drop of medium spreads out in capillary manner in the receiver (10), after which by random actuation an air pressure surge flows through the receiver (10) towards the medium outlet (4). The medium is discharged from the medium receiver (10) in an already finely divided state, whirled up and once again is finely atomized in the vicinity of an impact atomizer (30) until it passes into the open with a minimum droplet size of max. 2 .mu.m.
