  • Patent number: 6796012
Abstract: A milling and drilling machine for rod-shaped material. A motor-driven spindle head is movable on a column along a first coordinate axis and includes a work spindle capable of selectively accommodating milling and turning tools. A separating device transversely separates the rod-shaped material. A clamping device, disposed laterally alongside the workspace, has a workpiece holder with a clamping axis along a horizontal coordinate axis. A rotary drive is provided for the workpiece holder. The spindle head is pivotable about a Y axis at the front side of a headstock movable in the direction of the Y coordinate axis. The headstock is disposed on a motor-driven slide movable on the stationary column along an X coordinate axis parallel to the workpiece clamping axis. The clamping device is disposed on an inclined console located on the face of the column and movable along the Z coordinate axis in guides.

  • Patent number: 6539313
Abstract: A monitoring procedure and a monitoring installation for machine tools with a motor-driven work spindle and a separate protection device. The actual mass inertia moment of a tool fitted into the work spindle is determined by measurement and compared with a mass inertia moment calculated from the data of the tool. In addition, a predetermined parameter of a tool fitted into the work spindle is compared with that of the maximum parameter for the tool which is dependent on the strength of the protection device. The work spindle will be driven at the predetermined desired speed of rotation only if the actual mass inertia moment agrees with the calculated mass inertia moment and the predetermined parameter is smaller than or equal to the maximum parameter predetermined by the strength of the protection device.

  • Patent number: 5734561
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly rack with two side walls (10, 11) and with honeycomb plates (20) which are arranged between the side walls and connected to transverse profiled rails (15, 16). In such an assembly rack, a reliable shielding against electromagnetic interference should be safeguarded at low cost. This achieved according to the invention in that two transverse profiled rails (15, 16) together with one honeycomb plate and with two lateral profiled rails form an EMI-shielded, self-contained sub-assembly which can be previously assembled, and in that the assembly rack comprises at least two such sub-assemblies (12, 13) which are connected to the side walls with fastening elements in an EMI-shielded manner.
