  • Patent number: 5018502
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the degassing of fuel in a fuel supply system of an internal-combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle with a fuel tank, from which fuel is delivered to the fuel-feed system of the internal-combustion engine through a suction line and a pump and excess fuel is returned to the tank via a fuel return line. To achieve an effective and operationally reliable degassing, a vent in the form of a vent valve or a suction removal line with a jet pump is provided in the intake line at a geodetically highest point. Furthermore, reservoirs for separation of the gas bubbles may be connected into the intake line.
