    Abstract: A light source for a digital image projection system with a thin-film resonant microchamber comprising a plurality of image-generating light sources. The light images generated from the plurality of light sources are combined and projected onto a projection screen. Each light source comprises a primary electro-luminescent image-generating unit, comprising a layer of electro-luminescent phosphorus and an array of control electrodes for generation of a luminescent image in the phosphorus layer; furthermore an image amplifier with a photocathode adjacent to the electro-luminescent phosphorus layer and generating electrons as a result of light from the primary electro-luminescent image, and an anode for acceleration of the generated electrons by a voltage difference in the direction of the thin-film resonant microchamber.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a flash device, preferably for transferring a dye matrix which by means of a high-energy light flash is transferred from a radiation-absorbing carrier film by interleaving a mask onto a receiver element. This requires substantially perpendicular irradiation of the transfer plane with a high-energy radiation and a high uniformity of irradiance distribution of the light flash. To achieve this, one or two linearly extending plasma discharge tubes are provided which to concentrate radiation are enclosed by two separate aspheric-cylindrical reflectors, the concentrated radiation being directed through a lamellar louver element arranged downstream of the reflector and impinging on the predetermined transfer plane in a substantially parallel and perpendicular manner.

    Abstract: A process for recovering copper and noble metals from organic precipitates, residues and polymerizates which involves subjecting the organic components to a slow, low-temperature carbonization process without the use of any additional heat supplying elements. The metals remain in the ash in the form of salts. Normally the metals in the resulting solution are not separated out but can be recycled directly to the process as active components. No additional components need be added. Typically, the burning process takes place with a conversion rate of approximately one percent per hour. Preferably the burning process takes place at a temperature between 300.degree. and 500.degree.C. The ash is obtained in a form in which it almost completely dissolves in suitable acids, preferably hydrochloric acid. Preferably the process is used to burn the copper and palladium chloride containing residues obtained from the process of the oxidation of ethylene to form acetaldehyde.
