  • Patent number: 8104739
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pulse valve (10) with a closing body (18) that cooperates with a valve seat (22) and, in a first switching position, establishes a flow connection between a supply channel (12) and a discharge channel (14) and, in a second switching position, blocks the flow connection. The closing body (18) periodically alternates between the two switching positions during the actuation of the pulse valve (10), its movement being hydraulically damped by a throttle point (70). It is provided that the hydraulic damping occurs only in a subrange of motion (62).

  • Patent number: 6671152
Abstract: A power MOS transistor having a PMT chip located in a transistor housing in which the temperature of the transistor barrier junction is monitored is described. Protection of the PMT chip against overload and permanent damage is guaranteed without negatively affecting its switching function in that a protective circuit is provided in the transistor housing which directly measures the temperature of the transistor barrier junction using a temperature measuring element, and when a predefined or predefinable limit barrier junction temperature is reached reduces the drain current and thus the power loss of the PMT chip, the temperature measuring element being integrated in the PMT chip or accommodated in the transistor housing together with the protective circuit as an additional chip.

  • Patent number: 6394414
Abstract: An electronic control circuit for controlling an electromagnetic valve having an armature, in particular for a heating and/or air-conditioning system in a motor vehicle, has an electronic switching element in series with the coil of the valve and is characterized in that the switching element controls the valve voltage (or the valve current) applied to the coil so that the valve voltage reaches a first value when the valve is switched on; then the valve voltage is reduced to a second value which is lower than the first value; and thereafter the valve voltage assumes a third value which is greater than the second value and represents a holding voltage for holding the armature in its switched-on position.

  • Patent number: 6225769
Abstract: A device for operating an electric motor (10) is proposed, which evaluates overloading or blocking of the drive (11) from a characteristic of a current (40, 41) flowing through the electric motor (10). In accordance with a first embodiment, the determination of the characteristic is provided within a time interval (TI)′ the time interval (T:) occurring within the starting operation after a starting instant (To) of the electric motor (10). In accordance with another embodiment, the determination of the characteristic is provided at a prescribed sampling instant (TA) which occurs at a prescribed delay time (Tv) after a starting instant (To).

  • Patent number: 5099654
Abstract: A method for controlling a motor vehicle air conditioning system is described. The motor vehicle air conditioning system comprises a refrigeration circuit including a refrigerant compressor, a condenser, an evaporator and a throttle device arranged upstream of the evaporator. The condenser is associated with a ventilating fan and the evaporator is associated with a blower. The compressor capacity, the condenser capacity and the evaporator capacity are directly or indirectly sensed by sensor means and supplied as electrical variables to an electronic control circuit which logically combines these input signals and generates output signals in dependence on at least two of these capacity values and including further parameters. The control circuit acts on electrically controllable acturators for influencing the compressor capacity, the condenser capacity and/or the evaporator capacity.

  • Patent number: 4650045
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for controlling the output speed of a fluid friction clutch. The fluid friction clutch comprises a work chamber, in which a drive disk rotates, and a reservoir. A valve controls the circulation of a viscous medium between the work chamber and the reservoir. The output rotational speed is thus dependent on the filling ratio of the work chamber. The valve is actuated as a function of at least one control parameter by means of a stepping motor connected with the clutch. The control parameter is preferably the temperature of the cooling medium of an internal combustion engine. The rotational output of the stepping motor is converted to a linear motion to actuate the valve lever by means of a spindle drive.
