  • Patent number: 6330356
Abstract: The invention displays computer graphics in combination with imagery of real objects, while maintaining apparent alignment notwithstanding any changes of viewpoint of an imaging device relative to the real object. A computer executed control loop recognizes features in the image and finds a corresponding position and orientation of a CAD model by projecting the CAD representation onto a “virtual camera” and “moving” the virtual camera to track the relative motion of the real imaging device, according to an efficient “visual servoing” algorithm. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, computing tasks are divided between an “image processing host” and one or more “display hosts” which communicate over a channel. Bandwidth is conserved by performing image registration locally at the display host(s) using the “visual servoing” algorithm.

  • Patent number: 4057960
Abstract: A control system for gas turbines with a gas generator which comprises a compressor, a combustion chamber, and a compressor turbine, with a power take-off device and a thrust device arranged past said gas generator and adjustable as to through-put preferably in the form of an efficiency turbine provided with an adjustale guide wheel, with a thrust nozzle variable with regard to its cross section or with an adjustable propeller, and with a fuel metering valve the metering cross section of which in influenced by values of condition of state of the gas generator. As values of condition of state for the adjustment of the fuel metering valve there are selected the temperature at the entrance into the combustion chamber or at the exit of the compressor, or the pressure in front of the compressor turbine, or a setting member of a speed governor of the gas generator which adjusting member is adapted to be influenced at will.

  • Patent number: 3983693
Abstract: A device for starting one of a plurality of airplane engines with a starter by way of hydrodynamic transmission elements or a hydrodynamic torque converter having arranged in parallel therewith an overriding clutch that is connected to each engine. The engines are adapted to be coupled to each other by means of transmission gearing and coupling means arranged behind the hydrodynamic transmission elements when viewed from the engine side. The hydrodynamic transmission elements are adapted by variation of the filling to be controlled in such a way that the power intake beyond a predetermined speed will increase at a lower rate.
