  • Publication number: 20100109505
Abstract: A dielectric barrier discharge lamp comprising: a discharge vessel that comprises an outer tube and an inner tube, wherein the inner tube is arranged coaxially inside the outer tube, and wherein the inner tube and the outer tube are connected to one another in a gastight fashion, as a result of which a discharge space filled with a discharge medium is formed between the inner and outer tubes; and a first electrode and at least one further electrode, the first electrode being arranged inside the inner tube, wherein the first electrode is configured as a tube, the tube being provided with at least one slot that has a component locally or at least in some sections, both in an axial and in an azimuthal direction with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tube.

  • Publication number: 20080197775
Abstract: The invention relates to a dielectric barrier discharge lamp (1) of coaxial double tube configuration. Arranged inside the inner tube (3) is an inner electrode (6) that is designed in the form of a flexible, electrically conductive brush. The brush-type electrode (6) can be produced relatively easily and can be introduced effectively into the inner tube (3) because of the flexibility.

  • Patent number: 7411349
Abstract: A UV radiator has an essentially tubular discharge vessel designed to produce dielectric barrier discharges at one end and sealed in a gas-tight manner at both ends, and in each case at least one elongate inner and outer electrode which is oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of the discharge vessel. If it is imagined that the tubular part of the discharge vessel is split into two equal halves by an imaginary longitudinal section, the at least one inner electrode is arranged on the inside of the first imaginary tube half, and the at least one outer electrode is arranged on the outside of the second imaginary tube half, and essentially diametrically with respect to one another. As a result, and as a result of the shape and number and arrangement of the outer electrode(s), directional radiation characteristics are achieved.

  • Patent number: 7224111
Abstract: An elongated dielectric barrier discharge lamp with outer and inner electrodes has a tube that is arranged on the lamp stand end of the discharge vessel and that surrounds the lamp stand. The tube serves to receive a seal in order to install the lamp in a process chamber in a gastight manner. Power supply of the outer electrodes is separated from the power supply for the inner electrodes coming out of the lamp stand by means of the above-mentioned tube. This makes it possible to prevent effectively parasitic discharges between the power supplies which are applied at different potentials during operation also in process chambers under negative pressure.
