    Abstract: A stabilized polymer composition comprising a blend of a poly-(2,6-dialkyl-1,4-phenylene) ether and a polystyrene stabilized with an inorganic sulfide alone or in combination with an organic phosphite. The combination of the sulfide and the phosphite appears to provide a synergism resulting in substantially increased resistance to oxygen containing atmospheres.
