  • Patent number: 7357168
Abstract: Described is an embossing apparatus for transferring a transfer layer of an embossing film on to a substrate body which is stable in respect of shape. The embossing station has two mutually spaced support rollers and a deflection roller around which runs an embossing belt. An embossing section of the embossing belt is defined by the support rollers. Provided in the proximity of the embossing station in parallel relationship with the embossing section is a transport device which is provided for transporting the substrate body to be embossed. The embossing belt and the transport device are driven simultaneously at the same advance speed.

  • Patent number: 6202549
Abstract: Described are a process and an apparatus for transferring prints (18, 20) from a support (16) on to a substrate (10), wherein the support (16) is transported together with the substrate (10) through a station in which the substrate (10) having print portions (12) in succession in the direction of transportation movement is provided with the prints (18, 20) in accurate register relationship. This procedure uses on the one hand a substrate (10) having at least two rows of print portions (112) side-by-side transversely to the direction of transportation movement and on the other hand a support (16) which in the direction of transportation movement has between the prints (18) for print portions (12) disposed in a row one after the other in the direction of transportation movement at least one respective additional print (20).

  • Patent number: 4802949
Abstract: An apparatus for applying an embossing foil to a portion of flexible material comprises passing the material with the foil thereon over a substantial distance along a heated surface of a support member such as a roller. The material and the foil are jointly pressed against the heated surface of the support member, and thus against each other by a plurality of pressure rollers disposed at a spacing from each other along the heated surface. Apparatus for carrying out the invention comprises an array of pressure elements such as rollers such that the rollers can be applied against a support roller in a progressive mode of actuation starting from the center of the pressure roller array and moving outwardly towards the ends thereof. The support roller is driven by a variable drive means or an adjustable-torque slipping clutch.
