  • Patent number: 9197507
Abstract: An auto-configuring multi-layer network including different communication protocols, namely both wired and wireless protocols, interchangeably and indifferently to interconnect various devices such as, for example, controllers, actuators, alarms, sensors, interfaces, etc. The auto-configuring multi-layer network uses a virtualization functionality that mirrors devices from one layer having a given communication protocol unto another layer having a different communication protocol.

  • Publication number: 20080232399
Abstract: A method, computer program product and electronic device for adjusting a conversion parameter (Cssi) associated with an individual user of a multi-user air link in response to, at least in part, a variation in the transmission quality of the air link. A bandwidth transmission rate (NIRi) is determined for the individual user of the multi-user air link, such that the bandwidth transmission rate (NIRi) is dependant upon the conversion parameter (Cssi) associated with the individual user and a bandwidth distribution parameter (pi) associated with the individual user. The bandwidth transmission rate (NIRi) is compared with a target bandwidth requirement for the individual user of the multi-user air link. The bandwidth distribution parameter (pi) associated with the individual user is adjusted to set the bandwidth transmission rate (NIRi) essentially equal to the target bandwidth requirement.

  • Publication number: 20080112318
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for traffic shaping and scheduling in a network. A computer-implemented method includes receiving a data packet Ln from a network at a rate RN, metering and coloring the packet Ln using two-rate three coloring marking (trTCM), labeling and enqueuing the packet Ln to a scheduler's queue, enqueuing the packet Ln in a deferral queue if the packet Ln is non-conformant and head-of-line (HOL), to delay the packet Ln an amount of time to become conformant, up-dating the conformity parameters upon dequeuing of the packet Ln using its label, determining the conformance of the next HOL packet Ln+1 using its label and the conformity parameters and, if packet Ln+1 is non-conformant, enqueuing the packet Ln+1 in a deferral queue to delay its scheduling an amount of time to become conformant.

  • Publication number: 20080089309
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for H-FDD scheduling in a wireless network. A computer-implemented method includes, in a wireless network including at least a base station and a subscriber station communicating over an air link, scheduling a scheduling frame, the scheduling frame partitioned in N consecutive groups indexed from 1 to N and comprising J air link frames in a downlink (DL) direction over the air link from the base station to the subscriber station and J air link frames in an uplink (UL) direction over the air link from the subscriber station to the base station. The method assigns data from a FDD SS to any group in a DL or UL direction. The method assigns data for H-FDD SS to any group when data flows only in the UL or DL direction and assigns data to a non-overlapping group for the DL direction and the UL direction when data flows in both directions.
