  • Patent number: 7465140
Abstract: An apparatus for handling and loading bales. The apparatus comprises a wheeled base frame for traveling over a ground surface provided with bales, the wheeled base frame having opposite front and rear sections, and opposite side sections, the wheeled base frame including a main platform for receiving bales to be loaded thereon. The apparatus further comprises a manipulating assembly projecting from a side section of the wheeled base frame for individually grabbing bales positioned on the ground surface and individually loading the same onto the main platform so as to form a given row of bales transversally across the main platform, on a front portion thereof. The apparatus further comprises a displacing assembly for displacing the given row of bales longitudinally along the main platform, from the front to a rear portion thereof. A method for handling and loading bales using the above apparatus is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060225309
Abstract: An actuating assembly for actuating a chute of a snowblower having a frame. The actuating assembly includes a first gear, a second gear and a driving mechanism. The first gear is pivotably mountable onto the frame of the snowblower and rotatable about a pivot axis, said first gear being configured for operatively receiving thereon the chute of the snowblower. The second gear is pivotably mountable onto the frame of the snowblower and rotatable about a pivot axis different from the pivot axis of the first gear, the second gear being operatively interconnectable with the first gear so that a rotation of the second gear is transmitted to the first gear and vice versa. The driving mechanism is used for driving the second gear in rotation so as to in turn drive the first gear and corresponding chute operatively mounted thereon to rotate.

  • Patent number: 6154985
Abstract: A device is disclosed, for use with a snow blower being of the type having an auger, and allow it to operate while moving backwards. The device principally consists of a concave blade mounted on a snow blower, which pivots between an operative position where the blade extends close to ground and the concave surface of the blade extends in front of the auger in such a way that the blade scrapes the snow and directs it towards the auger when the snow blower is lifted up to let the snow pass under it and moves backwards, and an inoperative position where the blade is raised to a height sufficient to let the snow reach the auger when the snow blower moves forwards. A snow blower equipped with a device as defined above, for operating while moving backwards, is also disclosed as well as a method for blowing snow with a snow blower equipped with that device.

  • Patent number: 5425221
Abstract: Bales of hay or the like vegetable material are successively loaded on the frame of a wheeled vehicle and actuate a trip plate which causes a pusher plate to push the bale into the open ended portion of a long plastic flexible tube held folded on an arch-shaped upstanding holding device secured to the rear end of the vehicle. The bales loaded within the tube successively drop off the vehicle on the ground and react to the backward thrust exerted by the pusher plate on the next bale to cause forward movement of the vehicle. The vehicle carries its own power supply and is therefore entirely autonomous. The vehicle has a skid plate and the wheels can be raised so that the vehicle moves on the skid plate to thereby increase resistance to the vehicle forward movement thereby increasing the compaction of the bales within the tube. The holding device includes a plurality of tube retaining hook members which are carried by an arch-shaped frame for outward diverging linear movement so as to open the tube.

  • Patent number: 5333981
Abstract: The bale handling farm trailer comprises an elongated chassis, a front bed frame overlying and coextensive with the chassis and having a flooring secured to and extending across the front section of the front bed frame. The rear end of the latter is pivoted to the rear end of the chassis for pivoting movement to an upwardly tilted bale unloading position. This front bed frame defines a cavity rearwardly of the front bed flooring. A rear bed fits within the cavity and is pivoted to the rear of the front bed frame for movement between a rest position fitting within the cavity and resting on the front bed frame with both bed floorings in alignment and forming a continuous surface to an upright bale unloading position relative to the front bed frame. Hydraulic cylinder and piston units pivot the rear bed with respect to the front bed and the front bed with respect to the chassis. A bale pusher assembly serves to successively move the loaded bales from the back to the rear of the two bed frames.

  • Patent number: 5072531
Abstract: A pair of road-sliding skates for mounting onto a front-loaded, snowplow, automotive vehicle are provided, to prevent damage to the structural integrity of the vehicle when rolling on a high-crowned road, yet enabling unhampered snowblowing operation of the snowplow in high snow banks. The skates are mounted rearwardly of the front bucket side walls of the vehicle, being substantially inwardly offset relative to the vertical plane of the corresponding side walls, yet being forwardly positioned relative to the front leading edge of the recessed bucket flooring. Each skate position is adjusted about a horizontal, fore end aft axis as well as in elevation.
