  • Publication number: 20240147519
Abstract: Systems and methods for assigning temporary identifiers to mobile devices indicating a priority for allocation of network resources are described. A telecommunications network receives a request from a mobile device that includes an identifier for the mobile device or a subscriber associated with the mobile device. The network further receives device capability information for the mobile device and/or subscriber information for the subscriber. Using the device capability information and/or the subscriber information, the network determines a priority level for the mobile device and assigns a temporary identifier within a predetermined range based on the priority level. The network provides the temporary identifier to the mobile device, and the mobile device provides the temporary identifier to the network in subsequent communications to determine priority for allocation of network resources. The temporary identifier can be a Temporary Mobile Station Identifier (TMSI).

  • Publication number: 20240073717
Abstract: Systems and methods for reporting events or scenarios to a telecommunications network are disclosed. A mobile device stores an international mobile station equipment identity software version (IMEISV), which includes digits representing a software version number (SVN). The mobile device identifies an occurrence of an event or a scenario, such as an error condition, presence of the mobile device in a predefined geographic location, or an indication that device security has been compromised. The mobile device correlates the event or the scenario to a set of digits indicating the occurrence of the event or scenario and modifies the IMEISV to replace the SVN with the set of digits. During a subsequent Attach procedure or Tracking Area Update procedure, the mobile device provides the modified IMEISV to a telecommunications network, which can use the modified IMEISV to identify the occurrence of the event or scenario and take one or more actions.

  • Patent number: 11910448
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for managing random access for devices seeking access to dual connectivity. Both master nodes and secondary nodes in dual connectivity have 64 available preambles that can be used for random access. By reserving preambles for devices that are requesting access to dual connectivity, a radio access network can assign random access preambles to said devices, enabling them to use contention free random access to gain access to both a master node and a secondary node. In some aspects random access preambles will only be assigned to devices requesting access to dual connectivity if they have a sufficiently high priority level.

  • Patent number: 11864005
Abstract: A system for selecting an optimized carrier combination includes primary and secondary access nodes configured to deploy a plurality of carriers, and configured to generate a list of preferred carrier combinations and to re-order one or more internal lists of carrier combinations based on the preferred combinations to enable determination of an optimized carrier combination, for 5G EN-DC, MR-DC, carrier aggregation, and MIMO operation.
