  • Patent number: 10171323
Abstract: The invention provides a processor and a method for determining the state of a first network device in a lighting network based upon information associated with the first network device and a second network device adapted to pass messages to the first network device. The first network device is associated with a first count value, and the second network device is associated with a second count value. When the first count value is within a predetermined range relative to the second count value, the first network device is determined to have been inactive. Each respective count value is based on the change or difference in an incremental property of the respective network device since a last reset of the count value.

  • Publication number: 20180236354
Abstract: A lighting controller for controlling illumination emitted by one or more luminaires to accompany a video game. When a first event occurs during gameplay, the controller receives an indication of an identified type of the first event from amongst a set of predefined event types, and based on this controls the illumination to produce a first lighting effect to accompany the first event during the gameplay phase. When a second event of the same type occurs in a non-gameplay phase of the video game, the controller receives an indication of this also. Based on identifying that the events are the same type, but that the video game is in the non-gameplay phase rather than the gameplay phase, the controller controls the illumination to produce a second lighting effect to accompany the occurrence of the second event during the non-gameplay phase, this effect being visibly distinct from the first lighting effect.

  • Publication number: 20180235039
Abstract: A lighting system comprises one or more luminaires for illuminating an environment, each luminaire comprising at least one lamp controllable to emit configurable illumination. A set of configuration data (20?) is retrieved from a memory, the set of configuration data for a group of one or more of the lamps in the lighting system, the set of configuration data defining an initial lighting scene for rendering by the group of lamps. It is detected when at least one of the lamps in the lighting system is emitting illumination that would disrupt the initial lighting scene and at least one characteristic of the disruptive illumination is determined. The set of configuration data is modified based on the determined characteristic to account for the disruptive illumination. One or more lamps of the group are controlled, via the control interface, to render a modified lighting scene defined by the modified set.

  • Publication number: 20180160501
Abstract: A color picker controls a lighting system comprising one or more luminaries. A user interface comprises a display for displaying images when selected by a user via the user interface. The UI allows the user to select a region of a first image when displayed. Color selection information, which describes one or more color characteristics of one or more user-selected regions of at least the first image, is stored in a data store. When the user has selected a second image via the user interface, a region of the second image is automatically selected based on the color selection information. At least one luminaire of the lighting system is controlled to emit illumination rendering a color of the automatically selected region of the second image.
