  • Patent number: 5054499
Abstract: A device that pierces the skin due to the collapsing of dome between the fingertips. Immediately after a puncture is made, a blood or exudate sample can be collected on an absorbent test strip laminated on the pressure plate. Flow enhancement of blood or exudate from the puncture site is achieved by maintenance of pressure around the site and on the imparting of a vacuum within the device.

  • Patent number: 5024014
Abstract: A label for use on a beverage container. The label consists of a coaster attached to the conventional label or directly to the container by adhesive. In the preferred embodiment an edge or a corner of the label has no adhesive to accommodate easy peeling of the coaster from the container. The adhesive allows for firm attachment of the label to the container or another label while at the same time retains stickiness to flatly adhere to the protected surface.

  • Patent number: 5017176
Abstract: A bulk coin hopper and dispenser is provided with a pair of rotating discs at the bottom thereof. A baffle shields the discs from the weight of the coins within the hopper, while a flexible flap is maintained adjacent to the discs to urge coins into coin receiving bores within a top one of such discs. A stationary plate having a single bore therethrough is interposed between the two discs. Rotation of the two discs over the surfaces of the stationary plate allows for singular dispensing of coins from the bores through the plate.

  • Patent number: 4750889
Abstract: An electrical component for electrical interconnection of electrical elements includes an electrically non-conducting body containing at least one cavity for receiving an electrically conducting member, an opening for access to the cavity, a solder mask disposed proximate the opening for preventing the flow of molten solder through the opening and a frangible connection between the mask and the body. An electrical contacting member disposed within the cavity, preferably through a second opening, includes a solder tail that passes through the opening adjacent the mask. The component, containing the contacting member, is disposed on the top side of a printed circuit board with the solder tail, and preferably the mask, inserted into a plated-through hole in the board and protruding from the bottom side of the board. The solder tail is soldered to the board in a wave soldering process during which the mask prevents molten solder from entering the cavity.
