Each of these vehicles includes a body shell structure having side rails with an outer wall facing an outside of the vehicle and an inner wall, forming an interior lining, facing an inside of the vehicle. The side rails are identical for both types of motor vehicle and selectively form a low second support zone for a longitudinal lateral edge of the sheet metal roof of the vehicle of the first type or a high first support zone for a lower face of the glass roof of the vehicle of the second type.
