  • Patent number: 10740699
Abstract: A method for enabling transactions on networks that deliver services to users includes communicating a transaction application and a respective user identifier to a mobile communication device via a wireless connection. A set of complementary modules is stored, remote from the mobile communication device. When one of the complementary module has been loaded on the user's mobile communication device, it enables the user of the device to specialize a transaction on at least one of the associated networks by selecting at least one variable of the transaction. Different complementary modules can be provided to the user's mobile communication device for specializing transactions on other service provider networks.

  • Publication number: 20200066060
Abstract: A method for trip validation includes receiving signals, on a vehicle, from one of a plurality of spaced stationary beacons on a transportation route, the signals including localization data for the respective beacon. A passenger identifier is received from a mobile communication device of a passenger on the vehicle via short range communication. Encrypted transaction data is generated, based on the user identifier, localization data, and a timestamp. The encrypted transaction data is transmitted to passenger mobile communication devices which relay the data to an associated server for processing. The method allows the location of a public transportation device to be identified without the need to provide GPS localization equipment on the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9578594
Abstract: Contextual information for wireless communications is managed in terms of management objects (MO) using device management (DM) protocol. Contextual information management is performed by determining a need to change from an old configuration to a new configuration, retrieving profile information necessary to make a decision about the new configuration, and making a decision about the new configuration based upon the retrieved profile information. The new configuration may include information about access technology and changes in one or more defined profiles.

  • Patent number: 9363828
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method of requesting a random access connection between a mobile terminal and a base station includes: receiving, by the mobile terminal, information comprising at least one signature root sequence index, a cyclic shift parameter, and a number of signatures used for representing a boundary between a first signature set and a second signature set; preparing, by the mobile terminal, random access signatures according to the at least one signature root sequence index and the cyclic shift parameter, wherein at least one of the random access signatures is associated with the first signature set and the remaining of the random access signatures are associated with the second signature set; and selecting, by the mobile terminal, a random access preamble from the first signature set or the second signature set based on a message size and a radio condition.

  • Patent number: 9131474
Abstract: Methods for allocating and choosing dedicated signatures for random access are provided. Options for allocating dedicated signatures include allocating the dedicated signature from the unused space of the random signature root index when there is unused space and allocating more dedicated signatures from the same root index using the same time/frequency resources if additional signatures are needed, and reserving some preambles from the contention-based random access preambles from both sets of preambles. The present invention also proposes that the dedicated signatures be reserved in each of two sets of preambles.

  • Patent number: 8526986
Abstract: A method and apparatus to reduce the overhead related to allocation of the terminal identifier in a random access procedure and an optimized method for detecting a collision are provided. By allocating a “short” terminal identifier in the Random Access Response that is identifiers and allocating the permanent terminal identifier at the end of the random access procedure, the size of data that must be transmitted in the Random Access Response is reduced and power is saved.
