Abstract: Methods and devices for encoding and decoding 3D scenes of an immersive video are disclosed with the related data stream. Taking advantage of the fact that parts of the 3D scene does not change from one frame of the video to another, even when the cameras move and/or the lighting condition change, dynamic and static parts of the 3D scene are encoded in different atlases. In an embodiment, static patch atlases are repeated between two updates. In another embodiment, only updates are encoded and transmitted. The decoder maintains a memory associating entity of the 3D scene with a set of static patches that is updated with instructions linked to update static patch atlases. At each presentation time the static part of the 3D scene to decode is obtained from the memory.

Abstract: A device, an apparatus and associated methods are provided. In one embodiment, the method comprises obtaining a multi-plane image (MPI) representation of a three dimensional (3D) scene. The MPI representation includes a plurality of slices of content from the 3D scene, each slice corresponding to a different depth relative to a position of a first virtual camera. Each slice is decomposed into regular tiles; and the orientation of each tile is determined.

Abstract: The invention proposes a method and device for protection of data for devices connected in a network such as a local area network or LAN. The method and device can for example be implemented on a gateway, which acts as an interconnecting device between the devices in the LAN network and that can offer these devices an access to an external network such as a wide area network or WAN. The method and device thus offers a protected environment for applications that are executed on the gateway, such as applications downloaded from the WAN. The method and device gives the applications executed on the gateway controlled access to the LAN resources in order to protect the data that the LAN devices share within the LAN, while giving the applications access to the WAN.

Abstract: A system for collaborative pre-production of a film comprises user interfaces advantageously implemented as web browsers, a project server, a project database for storing project data and an asset database for storing tagged assets. The project server comprises a project management module providing the framework for the system, a data access module enabling users to view data, and a pre-visualization module for providing a best effort preview of the film based on the script and associated direction choices and assets. The project server can also comprise an asset recommendation module for suggesting, based on key words, assets in the asset database for scenes of the film, a direction assistant module for suggesting direction possibilities, including cost and delay estimates, for the scenes.

Abstract: The proliferation of digital devices has favored an explosion of the amount of image data stored by a user, and it is quite easy for a user to end up with many image duplicates in the user's image library. Prior art solutions can still be optimized with regard to detection of duplicate images in data storage. Notably, user intervention is to be restricted. A correspondence is detected between a first and a second image of the collection, and metadata is associated with the second image that characterizes the detected correspondence. Then, a predetermined image collection management action is applied to second images according to the associated metadata.
