  • Patent number: 6538226
Abstract: The machining liquid includes a load of particles contained in a dielectric liquid. The particles are carbon microfibers, sectioned or not, having a diameter (e) comprised between 0.2 and 8 micrometers and a length which is a function of the machining gap (G) provided between the electrode-tool and the electrode-workpiece. Thanks to this load of carbon microfibers of well-defined dimensions and geometry, the electro-erosion output, the precision of machining, the condition of the surface obtained and the ability to replicate machining performances, are considerably improved.

  • Publication number: 20020079213
Abstract: The device for purifying machining liquids for electroerosion machines, comprises a first ultrasonic decantation device (11) to separate by decantation the metallic contamination particles (38) from the machining electrode and the machined piece, a second ultrasonic decantation device (45) of a lower power to separate the particles (39) of said machining additive, and filtration elements (46) to separate carbonaceous particles (41) from the decomposition of the dielectric liquid. After filtration, this latter is remixed with the additive particles in a mixing receptacle (47) to obtain purified machining liquid.

  • Publication number: 20010017289
Abstract: The machining liquid (7) comprises a load (9) of particles contained in a dielectric liquid (8). The particles are carbon microfibers (10), sectioned or not, having a diameter (e) comprised between 0.2 and 8 micrometers and a length (l) which is a function of the machining gap (G) provided between the electrode-tool (5) and the electrode-workpiece (6). Thanks to this load of carbon microfibers of well-defined dimensions and geometry, the electro-erosion output, the precision of machining, the condition of the surface obtained and the ability to replicate machining performances, are considerably improved.

  • Patent number: 4825030
Abstract: Device placed at the outlet of a machining zone and having an outflow gauge equipped with two barrels in which a metal wire passes, an electrical current running through the wire which travels under tension between two guides, a pumping installation injecting a machining fluid under pressure through an opening of this guage, an element mounted at another opening of the gauge to measure the outflow of this fluid between wire and barrel, a transducer converting this measurement into an electrical variable, and a comparator suitable for sending a signal to a control unit when this measurement reaches or surpasses a reference value. The control unit is arranged for controlling a pulse generator to change at least one machining parameter in such a way as to bring the measurement of the outflow to or to below the reference value. This device is useful for monitoring the variation in the cross-section of the wire and preventing its breaking.
