  • Patent number: 9541622
Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining a position-dependent attenuation map of at least one surface coil of a combined magnetic resonance/PET apparatus. In an embodiment, the method includes acquiring magnetic resonance image data by way of the at least one surface coil during a magnetic resonance/PET examination of a patient; reconstructing the position of the at least one surface coil on the basis of the acquired magnetic resonance image data; and determining the position-dependent attenuation map of the at least one surface coil on the basis of the reconstructed position of the at least one surface coil. A magnetic resonance/PET apparatus and a computer program product, embodied to perform the method, are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160061922
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for magnetic resonance examination of an examination object, in order to determine a substance by execution of a magnetic resonance fingerprinting procedure for examination of an examination object in which a substance is located, a magnetic resonance signal waveform of a voxel of an examination area of the examination object is acquired by a magnetic resonance fingerprinting recording procedure, and a signal comparison of the magnetic resonance signal waveform is made in a computer with a substance signal waveform stored in a database, and the result of the signal comparison is provided as an output from the computer.

  • Publication number: 20150045652
Abstract: A magnetic resonance apparatus includes a patient couch with a couch surface on which a patient is supportable. In the patient couch, lower local coils for receiving excited magnetic resonance signals of the patient are arranged below the couch surface. On an upper side of the patient couch, connecting devices are arranged to sides. The magnetic resonance device includes upper local coils that are detachably connected mechanically and electrically with the connecting devices. The lower local coils and the upper local coils are connected to electronics that at least include a respective pre-amplifier and are connected via connection lines arranged outside the patient couch to an evaluation device. In a state in which the upper local coils are connected to the connecting devices, the upper local coils are fixed mechanically to the patient couch and cover the patient in a dome shape. The electronics are arranged in the patient couch.

  • Publication number: 20140221815
Abstract: A support unit is disclosed for positioning a patient within a medical imaging apparatus with at least one magnetic resonance device; along with a patient positioning apparatus and a medical imaging apparatus including such a support unit. In an embodiment, the support unit includes at least one bearing element for movable positioning relative to a patient positioning apparatus and a coil unit for receiving magnetic resonance raw data. The coil unit includes a flat supporting surface for positioning the patient.

  • Publication number: 20140221817
Abstract: A method, a computer program product and a computer readable storage medium are disclosed for generating a global attenuation map used for attenuation correction of positron emission tomography image data sets in a combined magnetic resonance-positron emission tomography device. In an embodiment, during the course of detecting hardware components of the combined magnetic resonance-positron emission tomography device and determining positions of the detected hardware components relative to a patient support, the global attenuation map is generated as a function of the detected hardware components.
