    Abstract: Polymeric compositions useful for preventing formation of scale in apparatus used for evaporating sugar juices comprise a mixture of at least three polymers selected from polyacrolein or - methacrolein compounds, poly-acrylic or - methacrylic compounds, copolymers of the foregoing compounds, polyacrylamides and polymers of maleic anhydride alone or together with vinyl methyl ether, at least one of said polymers being present in an amount of at least 10% by weight and at least two of said polymers each being present in an amount of at least 5% by weight based on the total amount of said polymers.
