Abstract: A device for eliminating the head and tail scraps (S) that are left after rolls of paper (2), such as toilet paper, kitchen paper, paper for industrial use and the like, have been cut from a log, said device comprising two belts (4, 5) arranged in a vertical plane at an adjustable distance, to adapt the distance between their inside opposite branches (4', 5') to the size of the roll (R), so that the latter is gripped and conveyed between said belts (4, 5), whereas a scrap (S), smaller in size, rests only on the lower belt (4'), in the vicinity of its center line, falling through loss of balance of the resting point.

Abstract: A rewinding machine and method for producing rolls or logs (1) of sheet material (W) around a tubular core (2), comprising a first winding roller (A) around which the sheet material (W) is directed, a second winding roller (B) forming a throat (3) with the first roller (A) through which the core (2) is introduced and a third roller (C) mounted mobile to allow the diameter of the log (1) to increase and the log to be discharged at the end of winding, in which a cutting blade (17) is provided that can be brought cyclically into contact with a portion of the web comprised between a new core (2) being introduced into the winding cradle and the made-up log being moved away, to cause separation thereof.

Abstract: A device for gluing the tail edge of sticks or logs (10) of sheet material, such as paper or the like, comprising a positioning assembly (2) and a gluing assembly (3). The positioning assembly (2) comprises two rollers (4, 5) with a fixed center distance, that can be operated in synchronism to position the log (10) correctly before its transfer to the gluing assembly (3), also comprising a pair of rollers (11, 12) with a fixed center distance that can be rotated in synchronism. The roller (11) is a suction roller, which holds the edge (29) of the log, while the roller (12) can be moved vertically to tip the log (10) onto a glue distributing nozzle (19), which applies a layer of adhesive to the log itself, before it is discharged by rolling between a plane (20) and a belt (22) opposite, which presses on the log (10) causing the tall edge (29) to adhere to the glue-coated section of the log.
