  • Patent number: 11716497
Abstract: A system includes a user interface for allowing a user to select a data stream to be played, a receiver for receiving the data stream to be played and a transmitter for transmitting the received data stream to a device that is capable of playing the stream. The system includes a first and a second device, which are separate from one another. The first device, called a receiving device, integrates the receiver and the transmitter. The second device, called a control device, integrates the user interface and, following the selection, by a user, of a stream to be played and preview on the control device, transmits to the first device a command for playing the selected stream, the command containing data for locating the selected stream. The user interface allowing selection of the stream from content stored on a storage device, the user interface being accessible from the storage device.

  • Publication number: 20170078725
Abstract: A method managing the recovery of content. The method includes content of a first type (CNT) and content of a second type (PUB). Certain time intervals (PL1-PL3) are dedicated to reading content of the second type. The content is capable of being manipulated via a control device. According to the method, reception of a command to manipulate content of the second type during a time interval instigates recovery of a different content of the second type.

  • Patent number: 7439982
Abstract: A method and system for rendering mixed media at a presentation workstation in response to a mixed media stream, in which the amount of computation is minimized. A tree structure includes nodes, each of which might point to sub-trees, and each of which designates a geometric object, a transformation to be applied to a geometric object, or a time-varying presentation. A scene includes nodes for each element in the scene. Depending from these would be nodes describing aspects of those elements, such as their texture and shape. A root node join the descriptions of each of the objects in the scene. Optimizing the amount of computation includes selecting nodes in the tree and calculating how to render each sub-tree. When possible, rendering information is calculated for only those portions of objects that will ultimately be shown to the user.

  • Publication number: 20030208613
Abstract: A technique wherein a data stream received by a viewer is responsive to input from other viewers. The data stream is sent from a server to a set of users who generate various responses to the media stream. The responses are analyzed and the analysis or other appropriate response is back to the users. In this way, the information displayed by a user is modified by how other users interact with the media stream. Additionally, the response of a particular user to a data stream may result in personalized information being sent to that user in real time. Various configurations are used to multicast or unicast a program to users and multicast or unicast additional information that is responsive to input from those users.
