Patent number: 10691598Abstract: A method for managing cache memory in a user device is disclosed. The method comprises stagewise excluding adding data to the cache memory as cache memory fill level increases, the stagewise excluding comprising determining, for each successive stage of cache memory fill level, exclusion of the data from being added to the cache memory according to rules of exclusion of adding of data to the cache memory that are increasingly restrictive.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2011Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: INTERDIGITAL CE PATENT HOLDINGSInventors: Thierry Quere, Renaud Rigal, Florent Fresnaye

Patent number: 10694240Abstract: After a stream transition event such as a channel change, a drift between audio and video presentation time stamps in an audio/video stream is determined. The thus determined drift serves to compute a duration of a slow video motion start sequence with a given slow video rate, so that video can be shown early without yet being synchronized with audio. The slow video motion start enables the audio to catch up with the video and allows to ensure a synchronization of audio with video after the duration of the slow video motion start sequence, where after video and audio are synchronized and evolve normally. The present principles use a single decoder clock that is fed to the audio and video decoders, the decoder clock fed to the video decoder being offset with a decreasing value during the period of slow video motion.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2017Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: INTERDIGITAL CE PATENT HOLDINGSInventors: Thierry Quere, Francois-Xavier Seingier, Renaud Rigal

Patent number: 10536745Abstract: A method, arrangement and device comprising the arrangement enabling to determine if audio data is present in a digital audio/video stream. If presence of audio data is determined and audio is muted and/or below a determined level, a visual indication is generated which indicates the presence of audio data in the digital audio/video stream.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2017Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: INTERDIGITAL CE PATENT HOLDINGSInventors: Thierry Quere, Pascal Baudeloche, Renaud Rigal

Patent number: 10057634Abstract: In a video delivery environment where a channel change in an audio/video receiver starts with a burst delivery of an audio/video stream to the receiver, characteristics of the audio/video stream are determined such as audio-video drift and burst characteristics in terms of duration of excess data delivery. At least one of these characteristics determines an offset to add to an initialization of a decoder clock, so that moving images are shown as early as possible after receipt of the channel change command, to be joined by lip synchronized audio before burst end.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2016Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: THOMSON LicensingInventors: Theirry Quere, Renaud Rigal, Nicolas Debomy

Patent number: 9762860Abstract: The invention proposes a method of display of a user interface, that comprises the following steps: a step of display in foreground of a first user interface generated from stored display elements, comprising a first set of display elements providing access to first services, a reception step of a second set of display elements giving access to second services, and a display step of a second user interface in foreground, replacing the first user interface. The invention also relates to a method of transmission of a set of display elements giving access to services, that comprises the following steps: a transmission step of a first set of display elements, giving access to services, and a transmission step of a second set of display elements, giving access to services, and destined to be stored.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2009Date of Patent: September 12, 2017Assignee: Thomson Licensing DTVInventors: Jean-Francois Lagardere, Renaud Rigal, Aurelien Longet, Thierry Quere

Patent number: 9288046Abstract: A device for generating an encrypted master key. The device comprises at least one input interface configured to receive a receiver identifier, a service provider identifier and a master key for the service provider; a memory configured to store a secret of the device; a processor configured to: process the receiver identifier using the secret to obtain a root key, process the service provider identifier using the root key to obtain a top key and process the master key using the top key to obtain an encrypted master key; and an output interface configured to output the encrypted master key. Also provided is a method for providing an encrypted master key to a receiver. An advantage is that the device can enable a new service provider to provide services to a receiver using an already deployed smartcard.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2014Date of Patent: March 15, 2016Assignee: Thomson LicensingInventors: Eric Desmicht, Olivier Courtay, Renaud Rigal
