  • Patent number: 11969785
Abstract: The invention relates to a sliding closure (10) for a metallurgical vessel comprising a tapping hole (1) for draining metal melt or slag, said sliding closure being provided with a slider housing (3) that can be secured to the vessel (2) and a closure plate (6) that can move therein for opening and closing the tapping hole (1). The sliding closure (10) also has only this moveable closure plate (6), without a stationary closure plate, which is can be moved directly on a sliding surface (7), extending around the tapping hole, preferably of a casing block (9) in the vessel (2) and can be pressed by pretensioning elements. In this way, this sliding closure (10) provides a constructionally simpler structure and user-friendly handling.

  • Patent number: 7581660
Abstract: A liquid-metering device is disclosed, in particular, a pipetting device for aspirating and dispensing liquids. The device comprises a vessel which is at least partially filled with gas and has an opening through which liquid is received or discharged, a gas-pressure-changing device for changing the gas pressure in the vessel, a state-variable-detecting device for detecting at least one state variable of the gas in the vessel, and a control device which activates the gas-pressure-changing device as a function of the state variable detected by the state-variable-detecting device. The control device is a regulating device which, during a regulating time segment between liquid reception and liquid discharge, activates the gas-pressure-changing device as a function of the detected state variable such that the actual gas pressure in the vessel is kept essentially at a predetermined gas pressure.

  • Patent number: 6585179
Abstract: A chopper for chopping up food has an upper portion and a push rod, displaceable therein, with an actuation head and a blade. A lower portion is connected to the upper portion, and a chopped material cup serves to receive the chopped material. Inserted in the upper portion and on the top surface of the actuation head are parts made of a material which is softer than the material of the upper portion or respectively of the actuation head. Thanks to the soft parts inserted in the upper portion, the chopper can be securely held by hand. The soft part inserted on the actuation head damps the blows exerted by hand for chopping.
