  • Patent number: 7675238
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lighting system (1) with a user interface (3) for controlling the lighting color and/or intensity of a lighting unit (2) determining the lighting conditions in a room. The user interface (3) is based on a system comprising a detection device (4) and transponders (6). Bringing the transponders (6) within the detection device (4) so that they will be detected causes the transponders (6) to send a response signal, which signal controls the lighting color and/or intensity of the lighting unit (2). Each transponder (6) is programmed to control a particular color or a specific light intensity.

  • Publication number: 20100045205
Abstract: A device is disclosed for wireless control of color of light emitted by a lighting system. The lighting system comprises signal receiving means and means for adjusting the color of light emitted from at least one lighting element, in response to a received color control signal from the device. The device for wireless control comprises means for—generating color information data, said data being indicative of a desired color of light to be emitted by the lighting system, means for modulating a first carrier signal in accordance with the color information data, and means for transmitting said color control signal in the form of a beam of said first modulated carrier signal to the lighting system.

  • Publication number: 20100049074
Abstract: A system (100) for categorizing songs on a physiological effect of the song on a user includes a storage medium (120) for storing songs, a memory (140) for storing for a predetermined physiological state of a user an associated predetermined first selection criterion, a rendering system (150) for rendering songs, and a sensor (130) for determining a biological parameter of the user representative of a physiological state of the user. A processor (110) tests a selected song for a physiological effect. The selected song is rendered a plurality of times. Each time, the sensor obtains at least one measurement, and the first criterion is used to determine a respective indicator indicating whether rendering of the song has a positive effect. Next, a second predetermined criterion is used to, based on a plurality of the determined indicators, determine a suitability of the song for bringing the user closer to the predetermined physiological state.

  • Patent number: 7652236
Abstract: A lighting arrangement provides light of a desired color. The arrangement includes light sources that each emit light of a respective color that, when mixed, is perceivable as the desired color. A light detector is configured to receive light reflected by a color reference surface having a specific reference color. A controller is configured to analyzes a signal from the light detector and recognizes the color of the received light as the color of the reference surface. The controller controls the light sources such that the desired color corresponds to the color of the color reference surface.

  • Publication number: 20090200967
Abstract: The invention relates to a control device (1) for controlling the hue (H) of light (L) emitted by a light source (2). The control device comprises a hue selection surface (20) capable of displaying one or more hues available for said light of said light source and interaction detection means (21) for detecting interaction between said hue selection surface and a user of said control device in selecting said hue for said light of said light source. The control device (1) allows the user to select the desired hue for the light source simply by interacting with the hue selection surface that displays the available hues. Consequently, the control device can be operated easily and intuitively.

  • Publication number: 20090179586
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lighting device (1) comprising a lighting unit (2) and a user interface (3) for controlling the lighting color and/or intensity of the lighting unit (2). The user interface (3) comprises a physical object (4), which is shaped as a polyhedron, for instance a cube. Orienting the physical object (4), i.e. choosing which side is up, serves to select the color, and rotating the physical object (4) about the side on which it rests serves to change the intensity setting. The user interface (3) generates an output signal, which is the input for a processing unit (9). This processing unit (9) converts this signal into a driving signal suitable for controlling the lighting unit (2).

  • Publication number: 20080305713
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for generating a shadow onto a real world surface is described, with the shadow being related to a virtual object in for example a game world. The apparatus (24) comprises a light source (26), receiving means (28) for receiving a real world description, and shadow generation control means (30) which control the light source to generate a shadow for projection onto the real world surface (18) in dependence on the received real world description. Hence, apparatus that delivers shadow effects in a room in order to enhance a gaming or movie watching experience is provided.
