  • Publication number: 20090090881
Abstract: An electromagnetic pressure regulating valve has a valve portion for conducting and regulating the pressure of an operating medium, such as oil, a magnet portion for actuating the valve portion for regulating the pressure of the operating medium and having a magnet housing, in which a magnet core is located that as needed exerts magnetic force on an armature, located in the magnet housing, a spring with a spring force generating a pressure activation threshold to be overcome upon regulation and located between the armature and an adjusting ball that is located in a pole piece of the magnet housing, and the spring has regions of different diameter.

  • Patent number: 7083114
Abstract: A fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes an actuator, which is encapsulated in a first sleeve and is sealed from an inner chamber of the fuel injector; a valve needle actuable by the actuator, which includes a valve-closure member cooperating with a valve-seat surface to form a sealing seat; and a locking spring, by which the valve needle is acted upon in such a manner that the valve-closure member is held in sealing contact at the valve-seat surface. An inflow-side end face of the first sleeve is dimensioned such that a linear deformation of the first sleeve, caused by the fuel pressure present at the inflow-side end face, is compensated by a linear deformation of the actuator and an activating piston extending the actuator.

  • Patent number: 6925983
Abstract: A fuel injector-spark plug combination includes a fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine and a spark plug with a spark-plug insulator, the spark plug having a first electrode, and a second electrode for igniting the fuel injected into the combustion chamber. The fuel injector and the spark-plug insulator of the spark plug are arranged at a biaxial offset in a respective receiving bore of a shared connecting member inserted in a recess of a cylinder head.

  • Patent number: 6871630
Abstract: A fuel injector-spark plug combination comprises a fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine and a spark plug with a spark-plug insulator, a first electrode and a second electrode for igniting the fuel injected into the combustion chamber. The fuel injector includes an actuator cooperating with an actuation device, which is in force-locking, operative connection to a valve needle, the valve needle, or a valve-closure member connected thereto, cooperating with a valve-seat surface to form a sealing seat. The valve needle of the fuel injector and the spark-plug insulator of the spark plug are positioned in a shared housing at a biaxial offset.

  • Patent number: 6832588
Abstract: A fuel injector-spark plug combination includes a fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, and a spark plug for igniting the fuel injected into the combustion chamber, and has a spark-plug insulator including a first electrode, and includes a second electrode. The fuel injector and the spark-plug insulator of the spark plug are each disposed in a recess of a cylinder head of the internal combustion engine. The fuel injector and the spark-plug insulator of the spark plug are fixedly held in place in a shared connecting member arranged outside of the cylinder head.
