Abstract: An electrical connector for interconnecting two electrically conductive members suitable for conveying very high currents, in particular short circuit currents, the connector comprising: a first connector part provided with a socket; a second connector part suitable for being coupled mechanically to the first part, and provided with a pin suitable for being received in the socket when the two parts are coupled together, each of the two parts having at least one axially-extending annular skirt respectively around the socket and around the pin, and at least one contiguous annular recess shaped and positioned to receive the annular skirt of the other connector part when the two parts are coupled together, and at least two contact rings disposed concentrically and at least approximately in mutual radial alignment, the rings being interposed between the mutually engaged facing surfaces of the socket, the pin, and the skirts when the two connector parts are coupled together.

Abstract: In an electrical connector which has to operate in fluid-tight manner in a liquid medium, in which one of the connector elements comprises contacts distributed circumferentially around an axial bore provided with a movable obturator and the other connector element comprises a cylindrical body adapted to penetrate into the bore by pushing back the obturator and provided with contacts distributed over its periphery and borne by insulating bodies of PTFE, the contacts are borne by insulating bodies of elastically deformable elastomer with the possibility of limited radial movement (springs) of the contacts with respect to the insulating bodies.

Abstract: An electrical connector comprises two mechanically couplable elements to cause electrical contacts positioned in these elements, to cooperate in pairs. At least one of the elements comprises an insulating body pierced with longitudinal housings shielding the contacts and itself retained and shielded, at least in part, in an outer casing. Clamping means for the element to a cable joined electrically to the contacts comprise: a collar engirdling the outer sheath of the cable and two diametrically opposite radial projections. Two half-clamps surround the rear end of the insulating body and the neighboring zone of the cable including the collar, each projection being engaged in two respective inner recesses of the two half-clamps. Axial connecting means and means for fastening in rotation are provided between the insulating body and the half-clamps as well as assembly means for the half-clamps.

Abstract: The invention relates to improvements to electric connectors particularly intended to be used in a liquid medium. Both elements (A,B) of the connector comprise respectively insulating bodies (8,20) carrying the contacts (9,21) and surrounded, in their front parts, by sleeves (14,24); two ring seals (25,26) are brought on those sleeves on either side of the interface (15,22) of the two insulating bodies and insulate said insulating bodies from the surrounding liquid.
