Abstract: A high pressure printing system comprising: a high pressure printing head, constructed and arranged for printing a printing fluid with a printing pressure in at least a part of a channel upstream of the printing head in an interval of 15-3000 bars; a pressure system comprising a printing fluid inlet and a plurality of pressure cylinders constructed and arranged for providing a constant flow of said printing fluid, the pressure cylinders being interconnected by at least a pressure valve; and a damper, connected between an outlet of the pressure system and said high pressure printing head, provided for damping the valve action of the pressure valve.

Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for building a three-dimensional article in sequential cross-sectional layers, which apparatus comprises: a powder delivery system comprising one or more reservoirs for delivering a powder and a powder spreading system; a printing system for delivering a liquid; a build chamber comprising a outer wall, an inner wall and a build platform which is movable along the inner wall of the build chamber; and a powder recovery system; wherein the building chamber comprises a space defined by the upper portion between the inner wall and the outer wall of the building chamber and this space is in communication with the powder recovery system and/or the build platform is capable of releasing unused powder (directly) from the build chamber in a downward direction into the powder recovery system. The invention further provides a method building a three-dimensional article wherein use is made of said apparatus.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for printing a fluid material by means of a continuous jet printing technique, comprising a reservoir for storing the material, a channel connected with the reservoir, which is provided with at least one outflow opening from which, in use, flows a jet of the material breaking up into drops, and a pressure regulating mechanism for varying the pressure of the material upstream of the outflow opening for the purpose of obtaining drops, the apparatus comprising pressure generating means for passing the material under a predetermined pressure through the channel in the direction of the outflow opening, which pressure generating means are arranged for applying the predetermined pressure to the material in the channel hydraulically and/or pneumatically.
