  • Publication number: 20250256086
Abstract: A cardiac assist device includes an expandable cup with a pumping chamber having at least one inflow aperture, an outflow nozzle in communication with the chamber, and a volume displacement member inside the chamber. The volume displacement member is cyclically movable between a low-volume state and a high-volume state at a frequency F, wherein a displacement volume of blood Vd is displaced from the chamber through the nozzle during each cycle. When the volume displacement member moves at frequency F, the device increases momentum of blood flowing through the device such that flow rate of blood exiting the nozzle is substantially greater than the frequency F multiplied by the displacement volume Vd. In some embodiments, the volume displacement member includes a balloon having a proximal region that is distanced from an inner wall of the chamber more than a distal region of the balloon when the balloon is fully inflated.

  • Publication number: 20250256055
Abstract: Methods and systems for inducing sleep in a subject. The method includes emitting, by a transducer, a first neuromodulatory signal to the subject based on a signal parameter during a first time period. A first biomarker signal of the subject is measured by a first detector a during a second time period. The second time period is subsequent to or at least partially overlaps with the first time period. The method includes determining, by a controller, a characteristic of the first biomarker signal and adjusting, by the controller, the signal parameters based on the characteristic thereby forming an adjusted parameter. Based on the adjusted parameter, the method includes performing at least one of the following: emitting, by the transducer, a second neuromodulatory signal to the subject during a third time period based on the adjusted parameter; or ceasing further emission of neuromodulatory signals based on the adjusted parameter.

  • Patent number: 12385444
Abstract: Method and system for transitioning from a first liquid fuel supplied to a combustor of a gas turbine system to a second liquid fuel supplied to the combustor utilizing a fuel pump configured to supply both fuels from the fuel pump during the transition without shutting down the gas turbine system. Through utilizing a fuel pump and adjusting the operation of the fuel pump during the transition, the additional costs, size, and operational complexity associated with multiple liquid fuel trains to facilitate operation of the gas turbine system with multiple liquid fuels may be avoided. The utilization of multiple liquid fuels during operation of a gas turbine system increase the operational flexibility of the gas turbine system by enabling the utilization of varied liquid fuel sources and/or local liquid fuel sources during a steady-state operation, yet utilizing standardized fuel sources for startup or shutdown procedures.

  • Patent number: 12387279
Abstract: The proposed invention takes available data from existing sources and pulls out the threads that are important for government or union contracting compliance. Additionally, the system formats the data such that it is standardized and actionable. For example, payroll data, fringe benefit plan(s) data, contractual data, and employee census data can be viewed in a way that separates and highlights important aspects of each data set. The invention may also utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to error check and discover missing or mislabeled data. The system standardizes the data such that compliance monitoring and analysis may be done in near real time. In addition, the invention allows for enhanced management of detected payment overages.
