  • Patent number: 8197628
Abstract: A method for temporary protection of blank surfaces of a component against corrosion includes a first step wherein a corrosion protection foil is applied to a blank surface to be protected and a second step wherein a self-sealing, semi-solid protection layer is applied in order to at least partly cover the corrosion protection foil. At a later time at least a part of the blank surface can be exposed by pulling off the corrosion protection foil inclusive of the protection layer disposed thereon. The self-sealing protection layer forms a closed film and the corrosion protection foil and/or the protection layer comprise hydrophobically acting components in order to prevent moisture from penetrating to the blank surface to be protected.

  • Patent number: 7938233
Abstract: An elevator system includes a lift cage, which is provided with a belt having markings disposed along the length thereof. A device for detecting at least the position, optionally, also the speed and the acceleration of the elevator cage, which is used to scan the markings, comprises a detector which is secured to the elevator cage and is displaced therewith. The detector is, preferably, arranged in such a manner that it detects the markings in one section of the belt which extend from the underloop of the carrier rollers on the elevator cage directly to a fixed point of the belt.

  • Patent number: 6886667
Abstract: Position transmitting equipment for ascertaining the position of a rail-guided elevator car includes a code carrier, which is arranged over the car travel path in fixed location on a guide rail with code marks of different permeability. A permanently precise reading of the coding is ensured by the fact that the code carrier is fixedly connected with a non-magnetic cover externally covering the code marks. The code carrier together with the outwardly facing non-magnetic cover are inserted into a receiving groove of the car guide rail, whereby a simple and reliable mounting is achieved and, in addition, temperature-dependent differences in expansion between the code carrier and the guide rail are avoided.

  • Patent number: 6809650
Abstract: A method and a device for determining the state of a rail stretch utilize a receiver that is moved along the rail stretch to receive radio signals transmitted by at least three transmitters mounted in the elevator shaft. Spacing data is determined from the radio signals and is compared by an evaluating unit with reference data of the spacing to generate a result with respect to the state of the rail stretch. The positions of rail fastenings, connecting straps and shaft doors can be detected by additional sensors also moved along the rail stretch and are represented in a correction protocol to permit an efficient adjusting of the rail stretch.

  • Patent number: 6612403
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for generating hoistway information from images of the surface patterns of a hoistway component such as a guide rail sensed by a CCD line camera. The image data are input into a first correlator which uses an incremental position of a new image and an absolute position of a preceding image to generate an estimated position. The estimated position is input into a second correlator and is used to locate the relevant database sector in which the image which was stored in the database during calibration is situated. The second correlator compares the new image with the stored image and determines from the position index of the stored image the absolute position of the elevator car which is transmitted to the elevator control.

  • Patent number: 4803124
Abstract: A method of bonding semiconductor chips to a mounting surface and a nozzle for same includes the steps of applying a first deposit of a die attach adhesive material to the mounting surface in a manner wherein the first deposit has the general shape of a starfish. This starfish shape is characterized by a raised central portion disposed at the intersection of the radially inner ends of a plurality of centrally thickened arms. The next step is to apply the bonding surface of a semiconductor chip against the deposit to cause the deposit to spread therebeneath while removing air pockets and hence any voids within the die attach adhesive material. The volume of the deposit being proportional to the surface area of the bonding surface and the configuration of the first deposit being defined to cause uniform and symmetrical spreading of the first deposite across the bonding surface provides full coverage of the bonding surface with a uniformly thick layer of adhesive.
