  • Patent number: 5340463
Abstract: A process for obtaining a multilayer material suitable for transformation by drawing or drawing and ironing into a hollow body having a height to diameter ratio greater than 2.5. The process comprises subjecting an aluminum alloy substrate to an anodizing or chemical conversion surface treatment for improving adherence thereto, covering one of the surfaces of the substrate by adhering a plastic material film thereto, and covering the other of the surfaces with a coating of varnish including a solid lubricant in the form of particles which are harder than the varnish. The coated substrate is subsequently drawn or drawn and ironed into a hollow body utilizing tools having a hardness which is greater than the particles.

  • Patent number: 5234123
Abstract: The invention relates to lids of easy-opening cans for perishable foodstuffs, and a method of obtaining them. These lids are composed of a metal foil and a plastics film, the metal foil having a mechanical non-traversing pre-incision corresponding to a tearing line and the thermo-shrinkable plastics film having a continuous depression situated opposite the mechanical pre-incision. The pre-incision and the depression, obtained by the action of heat, makes it possible to avoid the defects known as "feathering" and the plastics film is less expensive and more resistant to corrosion than is conventional lacquer.

  • Patent number: 5221576
Abstract: The invention relates to a strip or portion of a strip for deep drawing or drawing and ironing comprising a metallic layer carrying on one surface a surface coating of plastics material and on its other surface a coat of varnish characterized in that: the metallic layer is of aluminum alloy with each surface having a coating of anodic or chemical conversion oxide 20 to 80 nm thick; and the coat of varnish contains a solid lubricant consisting of particles which are harder than the varnish and less hard than the shaping tool or tools, which particles are of an average diameter greater than the thickness of the said coat after firing. The invention also has an object the use of this strip to produce various hollow bodies or containers, particularly with a height:diameter ratio in excess of 2.5 and for producing aerosol or pump distributors.
