  • Patent number: 4945720
Abstract: A thread cabling machine is provided with an improved regulator device (or cabling head) in which each work station consists of a DT unit similar to a double-twist unwinding spindle which enables two elementary threads to be united by twisting. One of the threads forms a balloon which surrounds the bowl inside which the spool of the second thread is disposed. The two threads are joined on a cabling head consisting of a unit comprising two pulleys mounted on a support driven rotationally by the balloon of the thread. The invention is characterized in that the eye carrier plate, disposed under the rotary pulleys and enabling the threads to be brought to the pulleys, is provided with a frustoconical part enabling the thread forming the external balloon to wind around a reserve groove forming a radius "r" relative to the axis X--X of the unit.

  • Patent number: 4922706
Abstract: An anti-ballooning can having the form of an enclosure surrounding the yarn winding over its entire height, characterized in that the enclosure has a cylindrical portion against which the ballooning yarn comes to rub over the entire height as it moves past, and which is extended by a likewise cylindrical zone which has a larger diameter and of which the end near the base of the winding is frustoconical in shape, its shorter section having a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the zone in contact with the balloon.

  • Patent number: 4161969
Abstract: A connection between two string-like members, as for instance a heddle and the rubber cord which biasses it downwardly, is effected by first stretching the end portion 2a of the rubber cord 2, applying the stretched end portion longitudinally along the corresponding end portion of the heddle 1, preferably between the two wires 1a, 1b of which the heddle 1 is made, binding both end portions by an appropriate adhesive 7 and closely winding on the whole a covering sheet 5, such as an aluminium foil.

  • Patent number: 3995418
Abstract: A double twist spindle yarn stop device of the type fitted with a thread feeler lever arm for automatic stopping of the untimely unwinding of the thread in the event of its untimely accidental breakage, the device operating by descending to a lowered position overlying a spool of the textile twisting machine on which the device is used, the stop device being characterized by a stirrup provided at the free end of the thread feeler lever arm, said stirrup having depending shanks laterally displaced with respect to the thread guide to fall therepast, and disposed to straddle the hollow spindle and rest on a centering tip carried therearound above the spool, the thread wrapping around the shanks of the stirrup and being stopped by binding thereon.

  • Patent number: 3981253
Abstract: This device for making tuft figured fabric comprises, between the feed bobbin containing the tufting thread and the fabric to be tufted, a friction roller adapted to be shifted for engaging either of a plurality of cylinders driven at different speeds; said roller is mounted at one end of a rigid support having its opposite end responsive to a snap-action spring having an intermediate unstable position; the support is connected intermediate its ends to one end of a two-armed bell-crank lever fulcrumed at its apex to a fixed pivot pin and connected at its opposite end to another snap-action spring. Adjacent said snap-action springs each of said support and lever carries a stud engaging a vertically elongated aperture formed in a loop formed in a corresponding jacquard cord. Each friction roller has on its outer periphery an annular tire of resilient soft material formed with transverse grooves and adapted to engage the cylinder surfaces.

  • Patent number: 3941161
Abstract: In a double-left Jacquard of the Verdol type in which the cam system adapted to actuate the pusher grid must be displaced angularly on its driving shaft between a first and a second position, or vice versa, whenever the direction of rotation of the loom is reversed, a reversing mechanism is provided by which this displacement is automatically accomplished when the Jacquard starts rotating. For this purpose said cam system, loosely journaled on its driving shaft, has a gear wheel which meshes with a first planet gear, the shaft of which is supported by a planet carrier keyed on the driving shaft. The planet shaft carries a second planet gear which meshes with a toothed sector carried by a drum having a limited angular freedom on the driving shaft and subjected to the action of a brake. Means are provided to release the brake when the cam system has been displaced.
