  • Patent number: 10113672
Abstract: The invention relates to a multilayer tube, comprising a tubular inner film made of modified polytetrafluoroethylene, and one or more layers of a planar textile fibrous material, which is saturated with a curable resin, and optionally an outer film. The outer film is preferably made of UV impermeable material. The multilayer tube can be used for repairing pipes, but it can also be used as a stand-alone pipe for transporting fluids such as liquids and gases.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 19, 2010
Date of Patent: October 30, 2018
    Inventors: Albert Fasel, Rene Quitter
  • Patent number: 9248605
Abstract: A liner tube for repairing existing pipes is provided. The liner tube is sufficiently flexible to lie substantially flat under its own weight thereby defining an upper portion and a lower portion. The liner tube includes an inner layer, an outer layer disposed around the inner layer, a first intermediate layer disposed between the inner layer and the outer layer, the first intermediate layer being wrapped around the inner layer to overlap itself and define a first overlap portion in the upper portion, and a second intermediate layer disposed between the first intermediate layer and the outer layer, the second intermediate layer being wrapped around the first intermediate layer to overlap itself and define a second overlap portion in the lower portion. The first and second intermediate layers include a porous material and the inner layer includes material substantially impermeable to liquids.

  • Publication number: 20120145271
Abstract: A curable liner tube, once inserted into a pipe and cured, can withstand relatively high internal pressures as well as relatively high external pressures, and can also resist destructive effects from liquids and gases with which the pipe and liner tube come in contact. The liner tube is sufficiently pliable in an uncured condition to lie substantially flat and to be substantially circular in cross section in an expanded state, and comprises an outer strengthening system that is configured for placement in a pipe interior and that changes from a pliable condition to a hardened condition upon curing, and a membrane system disposed inwardly relative to the outer strengthening system when placed in the pipe interior, comprising an impermeable sealing film having a facing surface that faces the interior of the pipe.
