The weight reduction and/or appetite reduction is achieved by administration of procyanidin and a flavonoid selected from the group consisting of chrysin, flavone, precursors of these flavonoids that are convertible into the one of these flavonoids by gastrointestinal hydrolytic cleavage and mixtures thereof.
