    Abstract: A device for rapid mounting and removal of a bicycle pedal shaft on a lever or crank arm 4. The pedal assembly comprises a shaft 1 provided with a smooth bearing 5 in the longitudinal direction received in a correspondingly shaped recess at the end of the crank arm or lever, enabling the shaft to be quickly and easily engaged in a removable manner. A retractable retainer 12-14 is provided between the shaft and a threaded ring 2 screwed into the recess in the crank arm or lever.
