  • Patent number: 4243130
Abstract: A clutch release bearing is supported on a guide tube by an axially slidable support sleeve which has a radial flange. The inner ring of the bearing has a radial extension which is in surface-to-surface contact with one side of the guide tube flange to prevent tilting of the release bearing. The opposite side of the guide tube flange has elastic projections which are clamped by claws on the radial extension.

  • Patent number: 4181380
Abstract: A self aligning clutch release bearing, mountable on a guide tube in a clutch assembly, includes inner bearing race tube and a rigid guide socket. An elastic collar affixed to the interior of the bearing race tube is provided with resilient internal projections which contact the guide tube and permit slight lateral shifting of the bearing race with respect to the guide tube. A rigid guide socket rides on the guide tube and has a radial flange which frictionally engages a corresponding radial flange on the bearing race tube to deter inclination of the inner bearing race tube relative to the guide tube.

  • Patent number: 4142618
Abstract: A clutch release bearing having thin-walled inner and outer races. To the inner surface of the inner race is secured a sleeve of resilient material. This sleeve may have a plurality of ribs in contact with the tube guide of the gear box. A single blind annular recess or plurality of substantially axial full length or blind recesses is disposed in the thickness of each sleeve, substantially in the area of each rib. Self-alignment of the release bearing is obtained by deformation of the walls between the ribs and the recesses or by radial compression of the ribs or both. The ribs may be substantially radially inclined and preferably there are at least six such ribs. Alternatively, the sleeve has an inner cylindrical portion, either unitary or axially split, in contact with the tube guide.

  • Patent number: 4074890
Abstract: Hydraulic device for exerting a pre-stressing traction on bolts or pins comprises three stages, with each stage comprising a piston within a chamber. The thickness of the skirts of the piston increases from stage to stage in proportion to the pressure to which the piston of that stage is subjected during a stretching operation.
