  • Publication number: 20100144767
Abstract: The invention provides methods for treating visceral pain and pain associated with therapy. The compounds useful in the methods of the invention are blockers of sodium ion channels, and in particular compounds that bind to the SS1 or SS2 extracellular mouth of the ?-subunit thereof. Particularly useful compounds are saxitoxin and its derivatives and analogues and tetrodotoxin and its derivatives and analogues.

  • Patent number: 5756705
Abstract: The invention provides method for labeling oligonucleotides and their analogs with ammonia-sensitive ligands. A non-ammonia cocktail is used for cleavage and deprotection in combination with base labile linkers. The labeling process is done on the solid phase and cleaved by the non-ammonia cocktail to prevent the ligand from decomposition.

  • Patent number: 5401632
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, kits, and equipment for purifying single stranded circular DNA and then using the DNA for DNA sequencing purposes. Templates are provided with an insert having a hybridization region. An elongated oligonucleotide has two regions that are complementary to the insert and the oligo is bound to a magnetic anchor. The oligo hybridizes to the insert on two sides to form a stable triple helix complex. The anchor can then be used to drag the template out of solution using a magnet. The system can purify sequencing templates, and if desired the triple helix complex can be opened up to a double helix so that the oligonucleotide will act as a primer for further DNA synthesis.
