  • Publication number: 20070209982
Abstract: A vehicle hydraulic system which has a component lube circuit, a pump supplying hydraulic fluid from a sump to a first and a second hydraulic control circuit includes a filter circuit. The filter circuit includes a first filter circuit outlet connected to a inlet of the lube circuit, a sump line connected to the sump, and a second filter circuit outlet connected to an inlet of the pump. A suction filter or screen is connected between the sump line and the second filter circuit outlet. A suction bypass filter or screen is connected in series with a suction bypass valve between the sump line and the second filter circuit outlet. A return filter or screen is connected to an outlet of the first control circuit. A return line is connected between the return filter and the first filter circuit outlet. A return bypass filter or screen is connected in series with a return bypass valve between an outlet of the first control circuit and the return line.

  • Publication number: 20060175113
Abstract: A vehicle includes steerable front wheels, an interaxle differential for transmitting torque from an engine to the front wheels and to rear wheels. The differential includes a controllable clutch operable to control a ratio of front wheel speed to rear wheel speed. A control unit controls the clutch as a function of sensed steering angles and stored information including steering angles and corresponding front to rear wheel speed ratio values. The control unit is automatically calibrated. The control unit periodically obtains steering angle values, periodically obtains front and rear wheel speed values, periodically generates new front to rear wheel speed ratio values, and replaces one of the stored front to rear wheel speed ratio values with one of the new ratio values if the steering angle values indicate that the vehicle has been in a straight ahead travel mode for at least a certain time period.

  • Publication number: 20060148607
Abstract: A PTO transmission transmits power from an engine-driven shaft to a PTO shaft. The transmission includes a variable displacement hydraulic pump driven by the engine-driven shaft. A planetary transmission unit includes a ring gear driven by the engine-driven shaft, a planet carrier drivingly coupled to the PTO shaft, planet gears rotatably mounted on the planet carrier and in meshing engagement with the ring gear, and a sun gear in meshing engagement with the planet gears and drivingly connected to a fixed displacement variable speed hydraulic motor hydraulically driven by the pump. A one-way clutch is coupled to the sun gear. The one-way clutch allows the sun gear to rotate in only one direction and prevents overspeeding of the PTO shaft.

  • Patent number: 5117702
Abstract: A sixteen forward speed, four reverse speed transmission is provided having a very high efficiency and excellent shift quality. The gear ratios are selected so that a relatively large ratio spacing is provided between each gear step in the low-speed PTO usage range and in the high-speed transport usage range, while a much smaller gear ratio spacing is provided in the intermediate tillage or field usage range. The gear ratios are selected to minimize the number of clutches being changed to shift from one gear to the next, with minimal speed and momentum differences required inside the transmission during each shift. Just two shifts have a large ratio change, and they are positioned in locations having minimal usage, thereby minimizing operator awareness of these gear ratio spacings. The total number of meshes through the transmission is minimized to provide maximum efficiency.
