  • Publication number: 20120216678
Abstract: An absorbent composition for removing CO2 and/or H2S from a gas comprising a polyamine, a monoamine and water, wherein the polyamine comprises a polyamine having 3 to 5 amine functions and has a molecular weight of less than 200 g/mol; wherein the monoamine comprises a tertiary monoamine; and wherein the weight ratio of the polyamine having 3 to 5 amine functions to the tertiary monoamine is more than 1:1. A process wherein such an absorbent composition is used and a use of a tertiary monoamine as an accelerator for accelerating the removal of CO2 and/or H2S from a CO2 and/or H2S containing polyamine having 3 to 5 amine functions.

  • Patent number: 8252255
Abstract: The invention provides a process for producing purified synthesis gas from synthesis gas comprising sulphur contaminants in the ppmv range, the process comprising the step of: (a) contacting the synthesis gas comprising sulphur contaminants with solid sorbent comprising a metal organic framework, thereby separating sulphur contaminants from the synthesis gas to obtain purified synthesis gas.

  • Publication number: 20110296871
Abstract: A method and apparatus for separating nitrogen from a mixed stream comprising nitrogen and methane employes a monolith sorption contactor formed of a unitary construction of active carbon, the contactor housing one or more separation flow channels, the one or more channels having at least one inlet to, and at least one outlet from, said contactor, the one or more channels defining one or more first internal surfaces of the monolith sorption contactor, the contactor further comprising one or more first external surfaces provided with a barrier layer, the first external surfaces being different from the first internal surfaces. The mixed stream is passed through at least one of the separation flow channels, where methane is sorbed. The contactor can be regenerated by contacting the contactor with a heat exchange fluid via the barrier layer at one or more of the external surfaces.
