Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a heat-sealing jaw assembly for use in packaging machine. The heat-sealing jaws are of the type commonly referred to as "flying" heat-sealing jaws since they have a component of motion in the same direction as the motion of a package, or other workpiece, to be sealed. The heat-sealing jaws are also of the type commonly referred to as "rotary" heat-sealing jaws since each jaw rotates about an axis. In a preferred embodiment a pair of heat-sealing jaws is provided. One of the jaws rotates on a fixed axis while the other jaw rotates about an axis which moves in an arc having a radius centered on the fixed axis of the first jaw. The movement of the second jaw through the arc is provided by a pivoted support for the jaw axis.

Abstract: Starting with a continuous flat sheet upper forming means define a central portion of the sheet which will form the top of the wrapper and two side flaps each of which is situated between the central portion and a respective longitudinal edge of the sheet. Lower forming means fold these side flaps downwardly under a plate for closure of the wrapper and, due to the advance of the folded sheet, cause the joining of the longitudinal edges of the sheet and the consequent formation of a tubular wrapper. The forming means consist of rollers whose position relative to the closure plate as well as their relative positions, can be selectively adjusted while the geometry of formation of the sheet is kept substantially unaltered.

Abstract: A device which is effective to divide flat cookies into groups of cookies for packaging at a high rate of speed without damaging the cookies which comprises a vertical receiving magazine and a substantially vertical collecting magazine the former being open at the bottom to associate with a rest surface for supporting the cookies, and the latter being open at the bottom to receive cookies from a sawtooth wheel rotating about a horizontal axis; and a pusher is provided for shifting a cookie from the rest surface to the wheel said wheel feeding the collecting magazine from below.

Abstract: A conveyor device has two endless conveyor belts extending in alignment and advancing in the same direction of (X--X), the adjacent ends of the belts being oriented diagonally with respect to the direction. During transfer between the two belts the products gradually abandon the first belt and pass gradually onto the second belt. This avoids any stumbling of the products, even when these are of narrow and elongate form.

Abstract: A device for transferring biscuits and confectionary products in general from a first continuous belt conveyor to a second in-line comparmented belt conveyor allows transfer rates of 400 to 500 biscuits per minute to be achieved, without breakage of the biscuits, blockages or stoppages of the operation. The device includes a bladed chain conveyor having an active pass which extends in the same direction as the continuous conveyor above at least an end section thereof laterally of the biscuits, and pusher means for displacing laterally one biscuit at a time towards the active pass of the bladed chain conveyor.
