Patent number: 11923587Abstract: A transmission line for transmitting radiofrequency range current between a first conductive element and a second conductive element, the transmission line comprising a signal current line and at least one return current line, the signal current line and the return current line(s) extending in parallel. Each current line comprises at least one first segment and at least one second segment. Each first segment is partially aligned with at least one adjacent second segment, aligned segments being separated by a first dielectric gap, and each aligned first segment and second segment forming a capacitive coupling across the first dielectric gap. This solution enables a transmission line which provides only small capacitive loading onto its surroundings, and which therefore can extend, e.g., through an antenna element without significantly affecting the performance of the antenna element.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2019Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.Inventors: Alexander Khripkov, Ville Viikari, Resti Montoya Moreno, Juha Ala-Laurinaho, Janne Ilvonen, Jari Kristian Van Wonterghem

Publication number: 20230420828Abstract: A display assembly, a client device having the display assembly, and a method of manufacturing the display assembly are disclosed. Antenna performance in, e.g., mobile devices is improved via a robust and multifunctional multi-layer glass structure for a display of the mobile device or the like which allows placing auxiliary antenna elements between layers of the display structure. The structure allows placing the auxiliary antenna elements at different positions within it. The auxiliary antenna elements can be placed under and/or within the display, instead of, for example, surrounding the display. The multi-layer structure is continuous from the display surface to the substrate and gives freedom to place the auxiliary antenna elements, including metal elements, between any layers of the structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2023Publication date: December 28, 2023Inventors: Resti Montoya Moreno, Janne Ilvonen, Dong Liu, Alexander Khripkov, Ruiyuan Tian

Publication number: 20230352828Abstract: A redirection structure for electromagnetic waves includes a multilayer structure and at least one antenna element. The multilayer structure includes a first conductive element, a conductive substrate, and a dielectric substrate arranged between the first conductive element and the conductive substrate and forming a wave guide. The antenna element is arranged adjacent an edge of the multilayer structure at an interface, the electromagnetic waves at least partially propagating in the wave guide along a first direction. The redirection structure further includes at least one dielectric cavity arranged at a predefined distance from the interface along the first direction. The dielectric cavity extends in a second direction away from the dielectric substrate at least partially through the conductive substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2023Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: Janne Ilvonen, Resti Montoya Moreno, Alexander Khripkov, Ruiyuan Tian
