Patent number: 12467992Abstract: An NMR spectrometer having an NMR magnet system which is mounted on a device for isolating the vibrations of the NMR magnet system from the environment includes a sample storage means for providing and temporarily storing NMR measurement samples to be measured, and a transport device for transporting one NMR measurement sample at a time from the sample storage means to a measurement volume within the NMR magnet system. The transport device comprises a continuous, pneumatically bidirectionally operable, gastight transport tube that is mechanically flexibly constructed from a plurality of interconnected sub-elements in the form of separate rigid tube sections that can move relative to one another and are dimensionally stable relative to a flow cross-section of the transport tube. This allows a passive mechanical decoupling from the NMR magnet system, without the need to actively monitor the position of the NMR magnet system relative to the sample storage means.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2025Date of Patent: November 11, 2025Inventors: Reto Schmid, Sven Sieber

Patent number: 11073583Abstract: An NMR spectrometer (1) with a magnet system (2), which has a bore (3) through the magnet center (4) for inserting a measuring sample (5) in a transport container (7), and with a transport device for pneumatic transport of the sample through a transport channel (8) into and out of the magnet system. The transport device includes a mechanical interface (9) with a mounted exchange system (10) which has parking receptacles (11) temporarily storing the transport containers. In a transport position, the parking receptacle is inserted into the transport channel, to be loaded with a transport container, removed from the transport channel for temporarily storing the transport container, and reinserted into the transport channel for further transport of the transport container. In the transport position, the parking receptacle forms a part of the transport channel, which permits a faster automated change of the measuring samples in short measurement cycle times.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2020Date of Patent: July 27, 2021Assignee: BRUKER SWITZERLAND AGInventors: Roger Meister, Reto Schmid, Sven Sieber

Patent number: 10782369Abstract: Transport apparatus pneumatically conveying NMR test samples (2) from or to an NMR spectrometer (1) through a tubular transport channel (3) includes a device (4) generating positive pressure in the end of the transport channel that is remote from the spectrometer. The transport channel has a tube system which has a gas-tight outer tube (5) having an outer diameter Da and an inner diameter da and an inner tube (6), arranged coaxially with respect to the outer tube, having an outer diameter Di<da and an inner diameter di. The inner diameter di of the inner tube is greater than or equal to the outer diameter DP of the test samples, and the inner tube includes mutually spaced cross-holes (7) designed as through-holes. This provides accurate current position determinations for the sample in the transport channel, and reduced risk of damaging the sample during transport.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2019Date of Patent: September 22, 2020Assignee: BRUKER SWITZERLAND AGInventors: Reto Schmid, Sven Sieber

Patent number: 10072897Abstract: A heat exchanger for heating fresh water using heat from wastewater in a shower or bathtub. The heat exchanger has a drain pan, a heat exchanger unit that is arranged in the drain pan, and a distributing element for distributing draining wastewater over the heat exchanger unit. The heat exchanger unit has multiple tube portions that follow one another sequentially and are connected to one another by diverting portions. Each two horizontally running tube portions that follow one another and that are thus connected by a deflecting portion are arranged one over the other, and wastewater, which is dripping or flowing down, is sprinkled on or flows over the tube portions one after the other.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2015Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: JOULIA AGInventors: Reto Schmid, Roman Svaton, Christoph Rusch

Publication number: 20140237714Abstract: A shower tray having a heat exchanger that is arranged beneath the shower tray for recovering heat from waste water in order to heat up clean water, wherein a first heat-exchanger surface is in contact with the waste water and a second heat-exchanger surface is in contact with the clean water, and the first heat-exchanger surface forms the floor, or part of the floor, of the shower tray. The shower tray here is produced from one metal material and, in the region of the tray floor, beneath the shower tray, a base plate made of some other metal is fastened on the tray floor, so as to form a heat-conducting connection to the tray floor is formed substantially over the entire surface of the base plate. Beneath the base plate, tubes are connected to the base plate in an integral manner. The tubes form the second heat-exchanging surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2012Publication date: August 28, 2014Applicant: JOULIA AGInventors: Christoph Rusch, Marcel Aeschlimann, Christopher Rast, Reto Schmid, Martin Sigrist
