  • Patent number: 6505986
Abstract: An applicator system, for use in delivering a flowable composition, comprising; (a) container including an inner collapsible layer distinct from an outer deformable layer, the inner collapsible layer defining a reservoir, and the outer deformable layer being separated from the inner collapsible layer by a buffer zone; (b) a dispenser including a first passageway distinct from a second passageway, the first passageway being in communication with the buffer zone and the second passageway being in communication with the reservoir; and (c) valve means operable to control entry of air into the buffer zone through the first passageway and exit of flowable composition from the reservoir through the second passageway; wherein the valve means is of unitary construction.

  • Patent number: 6269837
Abstract: A rechargeable dispensing system for dispensing a liquid product has a recharge container, a platform base, a locking mechanism, and a pump. The recharge container has a primary finish and a valve. The base has a receptacle for receiving the primary finish of the recharge container and a fluid connector located within the base and attached to the receptacle. The locking mechanism secures the recharge container to the base, wherein the valve is in a closed position when the locking mechanism is engaged and in an open position when the locking mechanism is disengaged. The pump is attached to the base in open communication with the recharge container along the fluid connector for dispensing the liquid product from the recharge container.

  • Patent number: 6179505
Abstract: A roll-on applicator which allows venting of gases between the inside and the outside of said applicator. This applicator comprises a ball within a dispensing opening and a flexible and resilient support means for said ball. Said flexible and resilient support means is such to urge said ball against said dispensing opening, achieving a leak tight engagement between said ball and said dispensing opening. This engagement is such that the pressure built up inside said container is not efficiently released to the outside of said container. Furthermore, said flexible and resilient support means can be resiliently deformed by an external force acting on said ball to disengage said leak-tight engagement between said ball and said dispensing opening, allowing said contained product to be spread by said ball. Said applicator further comprises a cap which presses onto said ball creating a free passage between said ball and said dispensing opening only when said cap is engaged or disengaged from said container.

  • Patent number: 6053375
Abstract: A non-resealable, snap-fitted closure comprises a closure, a drop ring and a container. The closure has a sleeve with a sleeve snap. The drop ring has an internal snap and an external snap wherein the internal snap engages the sleeve snap of the closure when the closure engages the drop ring. The container has a neck and a neck snap, wherein the neck snap and the internal snap of the drop ring engage when the closure and the drop ring engage the neck. The neck snap of the neck and the internal snap of the drop ring are an order of magnitude stronger than the sleeve snap of the sleeve and the external snap of the drop ring. When the closure is removed from the neck, the drop ring remains attached to the neck and is free to move vertically up and down along the neck, thereby preventing reattachment of the closure to the container.

  • Patent number: 5839616
Abstract: The present invention relates to a package for dispensing a liquid product having a blow molded container body including an aperture and a pivotal connection. A pump device is attached to the aperture, and a unitarily formed actuation lever is pivotally connected directly to the pivotal connection of the container body allowing arcuate movement of the actuation lever. The pump device has a first contact surface located on a portion thereof and the actuation lever has a second contact surface which cooperates with the first contact surface enabling the actuation lever to apply a substantially vertical operating force upon the pump device when rotated, thereby dispensing the liquid product. In a preferred embodiment the liquid is dispensed as an atomized spray.
