  • Publication number: 20220319789
Abstract: A relay array may connect an electrical device (e.g., an inverter, power converter, etc.) to a utility grid. Based on a detection of a power interruption or fault, the relay array may disconnect the electrical device from the grid to ensure safety or reduce damage to the electrical device or grid. The relay array may include one or more electromechanical relays (e.g., latching relays). A safety catch may prevent the latching relay(s) from changing states. The electrical device may be configured to facilitate removal of the safety catch once the ability to change states is desired. The latching relay(s) may also be supplied with a power pulse for changing a state of the latching relay(s). The power pulse may be provided by a power bank that may be maintained with power in case of a power interruption or fault.

  • Publication number: 20220158586
Abstract: Mounting an agent on a cover of on an enclosure of an electronic device such that changing a physical location of the cover changes a location of the agent. In response to a change in the physical location of the cover, detecting a change in location of the agent with a sensor. Reading a transmitted signal from the sensor by a controller and changing a status of the electronic device according to instructions from the controller, the instructions being configured according to the transmitted signal of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 11277093
Abstract: A switching device has a cover including: a hollow content area housing a plurality of connectors; one or more openings designed to allow passage of one or more conductors; and one or more reflective agents mounted on the cover such that changing a physical location of an entirety of the cover with respect to an enclosure of an electronic device changes a location of the one or more reflective agents. A sensor is configured to sense the one or more reflective agents and output an electrical signal depending on the location of the sensed one or more reflective agents mounted on the cover. The sensor is positioned outside of the hollow content area of the cover. A controller is configured to change a state of the electronic device according to the output electrical signal of the sensor. The cover is mounted on an exterior surface of the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20180083570
Abstract: A no-contact switch is provided that is configured to change the state of a power converter in a photovoltaic system. The no-contact switch has a mechanical section that is movable from a first position to a second position and which may include a rotary dial or a sliding tab. The mechanical section may be mounted to and penetrate an enclosure. Each of the first and second positions may please a different area of the tab or dial in proximity to a sensor. The sensor may be placed in an interior of the enclosure, and may be configured to sense the change of position of the mechanical section. A controller may be configured to read the signal that the sensor outputs and, according to the signal, determine an electrical state of the power converter and/or change the state.
