  • Publication number: 20080200918
Abstract: A surgical driver includes an elongated drive shaft engageable with a surgical bone anchor in torque transmitting relationship, a locking sleeve, and a sleeve locking member. The locking sleeve is mounted to the drive shaft and is engageable with the head of surgical bone anchor. The sleeve locking member is mounted for relative motion between a first position in which it is simultaneously engaged with both the drive shaft and the locking sleeve in rotationally fixed relationship and a second position in which it is disengaged from the rotationally fixed relationship with at least one of the drive shaft and locking sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20080065072
Abstract: Disclosed is a kit for use during stabilization procedures. The kit may include a head stabilizer having an elongated shaft with an implant engaging portion coupled to the distal end portion. A holding apparatus may also be included in the kit. The holding apparatus may have a sleeve, a pusher shaft received within the sleeve, and an implant engaging mechanism coupled to the distal end portion of the sleeve. The kit may also include a retrieval tube having a handle portion, an implant engaging mechanism coupled to the distal end portion of the handle portion, and a locking mechanism coupled to the proximal end portion of the handle portion. Other instruments that may be included in the kit are guide wires, dilators, anchors, poly-axial heads, extensions, spinal rods, and set screws.

  • Publication number: 20070260183
Abstract: A system for use in a surgical procedure comprising a pneumatic instrument having an inlet and an outlet, a tank fluidly coupled to the inlet of the pneumatic instrument, wherein the tank provides pressurized helium gas to power the pneumatic instrument, and a compressor fluidly coupled to the outlet of the pneumatic instrument. The compressor receives the helium gas exhausted from the pneumatic instrument and compresses the exhausted helium gas to supply the tank with pressurized helium gas.

  • Publication number: 20060041268
Abstract: A surgical attachment instrument and method according to which a housing is adapted to be coupled to a motor. A tubular member is coupled to the housing so that an end of the tubular member extends from the housing at a predetermined distance. The predetermined distance may be selectively adjusted by a repeatable increment.
